My mum is from Newcastle she said it’s an miners accent obviously she’s talking about when the mines was in use like one hundred years ago called Pitmatic ( dialect )

@@Kazza_8240 If you were in the North East you'd say she has a "Sunddancer" or more generally, a "South Tyneside Accent." it's similar to a "Geordie" accent but with more rising intonations in longer sentences, with random oddly well-annunciated consonants, and a more Makem pronunciation of the vowel in "Year" or "Day" which becomes "Yuhr" rather than "Yair", or "Sundaah" instead of "Sundae." Anywhere else, just say Geordie. In fact, the majority of people even in the North East don't really think about linguistics of the region much, so they'll rarely talk about anything other than "the Geordie accent" despite also agreeing we all sound different and say different things town to town. But that's the general public for you.

I don't really watch Sarah's stuff though I've seen the odd clip like this, does she not identify herself as Geordie to southern audiences? I imagine anyone outside the north east isn't going to know what a Sand Dancer is

@Justin Credible I don't like many female comedians, past or present, in fact, Sarah is about the only female comedian I find funny, and the only one I'd pay to see live, you're right Justin, she's the best female comedian this countrys got. And to Steve - she can't help her voice man, and sometimes it is a bit much if you've already got a headache, but her patter is spot on.
