Serafinowicz is one of those class acts who bubble along under the radar for far far too long and whom we who've been lucky enough to follow his work hope against hope that he'll be richly rewarded asap. If he wants it or not, cos he's that good!

The first thing I ever saw Peter Serafinowicz in was Spaced. He was just playing a minor character so I was not aware of his immense talent until I saw more of his work including his own sketch show. As well as his Brian Butterfield sketches, I would also urge you to watch him as Michael-6, also from his sketch show, if you haven’t already. I wish he had done more than just the two series. I once had the honour of actually getting a reply from him on Twitter as his character Tex from Alan Partridge, when I wished him a happy birthday .

He's featured on a 2 minute video on KZfaq on the BBC Channel. It's very funny and titled The New Mactini. He also played the Superhero in a show called The Tick. It's based on a comic strip. It's available on Amazon. Unfortunately, Amazon cancelled before a third series was made. I loved it. Peter has been in lots of other shows too.

His show ran for just 7 episodes in 2007. No second series. It was aired on BBC2 and depending on what time it was scheduled, and what it was running up against, that might explain why he has not been high up on everybody's radar

You’ve discovered one of the most underrated comedians from the UK. Brilliant in anything he’s in. I think you’d enjoy the Netflix series The Gentleman; PS plays a gangster in it for a couple of episodes and he’s terrifying…. Also The Tick- he’s fantastic in that….and ‘Look around you’ which parodies BBC shows from the 80s. Probably a bit culturally specific, that one.
@Decisive77
@Decisive77 18 күн бұрын
"Look Around You" is imo one of his biggest secret masterpiece series (co-written and starring)... season 1 is definitely the best. Its a spoof scientific teaching aid series based on 70s/80s videos for schools, covering one subject per episode.. "Calcium" and "Mathematucs" are two highlights but all are well worth a look.

I agree, The Peter Serafinowicz show is highly underrated. It kind of went under the radar here (UK/Ireland) at the time. I think it's up there with the greatest UK sketch shows of all time, but only really built a cult following online since. One of the co-stars in the show is Bronagh Gallagher from here in Derry, N Ireland. I recommend his Beatles sketches and "Michael 6" sketches.

The Peter Serafinowicz Show was canceled after it's very first series... He was never given the support from the BBC bosses at that time... Scheduling inconsistencies for his show were never resolved... The BBC used to show his show on BBC-2 at 9:30 pm on a Thursday night as a short term schedule filler... Which is such a shame because if you look back at most classic British comedies... Almost without exception... They all started out getting a slating from the British media critiques... But they were at least given a second series to showcase themselves better... Even the likes of Only Fools And Horses got a roasting from the newspaper and television critiques!... All comedies need time to develop their own characters... But that simply can't happen overnight!... The BBC entertainment bosses axed his show without giving it a fair chance to shine... If the BBC had done that with Only Fools And Horses... Can you imagine the comedy gold that the world would've missed out on... Short sighted BBC executives pulled the shows plug prematurely.... Peter deserved better.

If you watch Guy Ritchie's Netflix series of "The Gentlemen", Peter's managed to bag himself a role as a Liverpudlian gangster. His onscreen brother is a god-fearing nutcase portrayed by the superb Pierce Quigley from Detectorists. The first girl "Tatiana" is played by the absolutely marvellous Catherine Shepherd. Yes shes in Peep Show, but absolutely marvellous as a versatile actress in Harry & Paul (Enfield & Whitehouse). She often plays simpleton wives of very affluent men.

It didn't run for long enough to build up a big following - one of the common things to a lot of British comedy is that the first series will not get a lot of attention but when they come back for more people gradually pick up on them. Things like The Office are the exception. BBC tended to not promote comedy shows that hard if they weren't big budget or had a top A-list celebrity name associated with them.

I think Peter is a little bit of a more obscure comedian, less mainstream. I don't know too many people who know him or know he had a show, that may be why you're not getting as many requests for him. But this show is awesome, you should watch some more mate
