I'm a retired Army Combat Veteran and that soldier is absolutely correct. We never went in to fight the Muslims; we fought a government system. We soldiers simply follow orders, but we are also taught military morals and values that align with our constitution.

This soldier truly believes in the oath he swore, the quote "That's why I wear the uniform, so anyone can live free" is the foundation of why we serve, why we put our lives on the line, why we are away from our families for months at a time. he is an example of what we need to aspire to be as a nation, because in the end, we are all Americans. It shouldn't be an heroic gesture, but most people would not have bothered to do what he did. Being a soldier, in uniform, did give him the confidence to intervene. I'm proud of him !!

It doesn't matter what God you follow, it all leads to one point for every individual and that is enlightenment. This is a problem in America these days where people even the children can't freely express their beliefs without being ridiculed, It is a shame. I have friends with all different beliefs and I enjoy learning and understanding them and you will be surprised on how similar they all are. And most Americans miss understand what a true Muslim is, they are not the ones doing the attacks. So fellow Americans do your research study b4 you judge someone's beliefs.

Even as a warrior, the soldier tried the peaceful approach first. When that didn't work, he wasn't afraid to be direct in telling him to leave. An excellent example of disciplined danger.

So he'd fight "these guys" at another time. "These guys" obviously refers to Muslims and the soldier did not disagree that he wasn't going to fight them (in the principle of being non-discriminative). He basically contradicted his own claim of why he wears the uniform by saying he would fight them at another time.

So wonderful to see there are good people in the world. Heartwarming no words. I live in Israel with Muslims every day, not even once I have said anything racist about them or them about me. Some Arabs were bad to me but individuals and not as a whole. And some Arabs who are either Christian, Muslim or even Druze that we meet and talk often, and I have keys to their houses if I want to a key is waiting just for me. That is a true value of friendship, love and trust I have with them. I wish there would many people like this soldiers. And I am Romanian descendant Jewish.
