My brother who had downsyndrome passed away in 2015. He was such a happy and kind person. The fact that there are such terrible people out there just makes me sad. I just cried my eyes out, because I miss my sunshine even though it's so long ago. Now I work as an educative therapist because I want to give my clients the amount of love my brother gave me. PLEASE BE KIND TO EACH OTHER!

These people defending the person with down syndrome are literally so sweet. My little sister is 5 and has down syndrome and I’ve seen the way MANY people (including family and family friends) have treated her, so these people genuinely warm my heart. Being disabled doesn’t change anything. Everyone has feelings. Being rude to somebody for something they can’t control is disgusting.

I agree.. . This kinda stuff infuriates me! Honestly, I'm not the most stable individual. One day I saw two men bullying a clearly autistic man in a parking lot.. the autistic man finally walked away crying after being mocked and called retard3d. I waited for the two men to walk away and I keyed their beautiful brand new truck. I wrote the words "mentally challenged" across the whole body of the truck lol.. karma. I didn't live in that state and their were no cameras in the parking lot so I was good! I wish I was there to see their faces when they saw their truck.

The terminology has changed a bit over the years. I have a couple friends who work at group homes for people with mental delays and we usually use the term developmentally disabled. I know that term might not have been the best but it’s certainly more appropriate than retarded.

Peter Brodzinski, my fellow Washington Township High School alumni. The episodes he was on were my favorites. We both deal with mental disabilities on a daily basis, and the way he handles it is a real inspiration to me. His mother was actually my English teacher at WTHS. She was the best English teacher I ever had.

I have a younger brother with autism. He has been made fun of for being "Different" and even was pushed into a mud puddle once and came home soaking wet, the principal didn't even tell my mom until she came to pick him up! He likes his hair long and so kids also used to tell him he's a girl. And to all who said that, no. My brother is very much a boy no matter what hair style he has. It really melted my heart seeing this video.

I have adhd/ presumed autism. As it’s a invisible disability I have suffered a lot of discrimination like this but people don’t say anything because I ‘look normal’. It hurts when you now your heart is kind but people don’t care if your mind works a little different. This brought me to tears. Usually these buds don’t but my god this one was amazing.

I have autism, and people have picked on me throughout my life. That's where my two older sisters come in, especially my oldest. I also have friends who have Down Syndrome, and I'd be SO tempted to just punch whoever picks on them

Amen. I know it's fake and I'm sitting here shaking. My stepbrother had Downs syndrome and I was a tomboy growing up. The one thing I won't tolerate is bullying so you can imagine what I got into trouble for when I was a kid. 😊 I'll put up with anything but if someone picks on someone who's disabled, I'll knock their teeth out.
