I’m an American and lived in Tehran from 1976-1979, I was under 10 years old at the time and went to TAS (Tehran American School). I remember how volatile it was at that time but I thought that was the norm. I remember people protesting outside of our apartment building, throwing rocks soaked in gas and lighting them on fire at our windows. I remember my neighbors coming down to the basement where we lived to huddle in the middle of our living room. They chanted death to Americans. I also remember compassionate Iranians who helped my parents get us out of that country. When I tell American Iranians about my past it automatically connects us. I hope the Iranian people will one day not live in fear of what their and our government are doing to them. I am not ready to send my teenage son off to war if that is where we are headed.

What you witnessed back in those days in Iran isn't any different than what occurred in the streets of America during the summer of 2020! The deep state/three-letter agencies were heavily involved in both events to create chaos and mayhem to overthrow the regimes - Shah in Iran and Trump in America!

Hate to break it to americans but the 79 coup in Iran was planned and invested by mi6 and cia as the prince said it however, what people do not know is that they think the whitehouse has any power really yet they don't know US is one of the 50 so called countries created by the brits and been ordered and conducted from the whitehall ever since. Therefor, it's all abt the brits. On the othjer hand, the biggest crime of all and one of the most disgraceful shameful illegal law formed in history of humanity is that when the brits made the previous king, the prince father leave Iran and never allowed his plane to land anywhere, the brits through US created a covert law and banned the crown prince from reclaiming his own lawful place after his father which is called "the henry precht doctorine" and based on it, the prince and his family cannot meddle in Iran's affairs and if they do theyll be jailed. Now, can you believe that really? Crateing a coup, making the king leaves his country, imprison his family and son in US, destroy and loot their country an resources, destroy Iranians or the young generations morality and their insfracture, trying to separate Iran from four corner by Bernard Henry Levy evil theoristian plans who he destroyed sudan somalia yemen syria iraq afghanistan ...and as writen in the famous pentagon war list, Iran is the 7th who the brits planned to invade since they didnt succeed to separate Iran in the time of the king's father from north by Rus and the south by the brits in wwi and ii. And here we go four decades ago did such heinous anti humanity crime against a nation and for what? Mundane achievemnets and power, an incurable insatiable endless diseas, materialism and power. Anyway, the shah said if i go Middle east goes and if Middle east goes the world goes and today you see the situation on earth by the terrorists globally. There's only one way to make the world go in peace forever since Iran is the brifge between east and west. The brits must let go of their historical animosity and sikness abt Iran and its resources an also undo the henry precht doctorince and free the prince to go back to his nation and land and starts over constructing what teh brits americans and the rus destroyed and looted during four decades and the hardest part is the people morality. A nation with a intensely demoralized young generation ny the KGB methods and its old generation is on the verge of total destruction. But will the brits do that? If the medias and news papers reveal that crime to all nations yes but if not, who knows what happens to iranians middle easterners and westerners...all nations must force the brits to undo that illegal law and let go of iran and iranians and allow the prince to speak out freely and go back. They have been even controlling their relations words deeds phones and even social pages activities for preventing them from provoking their people can you believe such crime? The brits must pay a high price for what they have done to Iran and iranians, middle east and the world and other nations. Tell this to all people and let the world knows who the brits really are. Bro the democrats have been this way since the days of Woodrow Wilson (1912). Wilson suffered a stroke while in office in his last year which was the best thing ever did. His wife had to govern the USA during that time as an unofficial first female president. It’s the old school Republicans who were responsible and kept respect for the constitution and bill of rights. But since the neocons infiltrated the republicans the democrats basically control both parties and that’s an observable fact. Pat Buchanan and Ron Paul types are seen as radicals when they’re moderates or akin to an old school republican such as Warren G Harding, Coolidge, Taft, etc.

Pahlavi is the most popular political brand inside Iran and in the diaspora. The Pahlavi Shahs are the founders of Modern Iran. They built Iran's first modern infrastructures such as modern universities, hospitals, railways, highways, airways, and a modern national army/military. They abolished human slavery, tribalism, feudalism, clerical judiciary, and compulsory hijab. They, for the first time since the Arab/Muslim Invasion of Iran, empowered women by giving them back the right to personal autonomy, the right to divorce and to vote. The Shah took the lands from feudal landlords and gave them to the peasants and farmers. He made Iran a regional and world-stage power, Iran was controlling the energy dominance in the world while exporting natural gas to the Soviet Union, Oil to the West, and also buying energy resources such as the Rum Gasfield from the U.K. in Scotland. Iranian Imperial Army rescued Oman within a few weeks, from becoming the North Korea of the Middle East, during the Zoffar war. Most Westerners have no clue what the Shah and Pahlavis did for Iran. Now the new generations in Iran, want the exiled Shah Reza Pahlavi back home. Iranians have been chanting his name for years. #KingRezaPahlavi #TheSHAH #شاه_رضا_پهلوی ❤

@theblindowl3828- If the last shah was so popular, why did the US have to sneak him out of the country in the middle of the night for fear he would be murdered ? He and his wife spent money like there was no tomorrow. They stole enough money to live like kings for several life times. The people chose to get rid of the king and install a religious leader and unfortunately it has hurt Iran beyond belief.

PBD, let's open a dialogue on the events in Iran during the '70s and their relevance to today's situation. It could aid younger generations in clarifying some of the misinformation and characterization of the current situation in the Middle East. Understanding the historical context and potential consequences could provide valuable insights and help for the current decision-making.

I hoped you would open Pandora's box and analyze deeper the US involvement in the Iranian revolution. The whole picture is a lot more nuanced, and few delve into the economic and political background/context of the '70s Middle East. A clearer understanding of the events from that time could indeed contribute to making better decisions in the present.

The Islamic Republic of Iran, this evil terrorist regime, attacked Iran 45 years ago, and our king, Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, voluntarily left the country to avoid any bloodshed at a time when many outsiders were creating chaos in Iran. However, soon, we will return our Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi to his own country, and that is when the Middle East and the rest of the world will become a much safer. I had a liberal 4th grade teacher during this period and she was so enraged that the hostages were released after Reagan took office she had a melt down in class. Paraphrasing here “he will now take credit for this when it was Carter who did this”.

It's true. The Carter administration negotiated the release, but the Republicans can a deal with the Iranians whereby they would be released only after the election. I think they were released only a few days after. The Republicans continued to deal with the Iranians right up to the Iran Contra scandal, where they used Iran to by-pass Congress who were opposed to arming terrorists who were attacking schools and clinics in Nicaragua. The Reagan administration did it anyway, with the help of Iran.

@@Alex_Plante Shows what a great job they did not following the path of the Constitution, especially in the 70's/80's. This is exactly how we allowed a Bush/Clinton/Bush/Obama, and now were stupid enough to allow a Biden. We just can't get enough idiocy in this country and the snowball doesn't get smaller. We have seriously needed education since the decimation of the 60's, but where would it come from today, we are consumed by educated idiots and refuse to allow common sense. We have the self-righteous right and the fear mongering left, there is no middle ground of reasoning, both will happily band together to kill innocents, eradicate American freedoms, anything but do what the Constitution demands.

Stop blaming Carter only for your father's mistakes, the disastrous revolution was going to happen regardless of who was in the W.H. this didn't happen overnight, it was planned for years, every responsible individual, the ruler, top military personnel and even the secret service of savak didn't do their duties and by the time they woke up it was to late to prevent the catastrophe, RIP Shah.
