On Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, AmHydro's favorite hydroponics consultant, Joe Swartz, shared best practices for pest control in a greenhouse environment.
Greenhouse crops are susceptible to similar pests as your outdoor crops - like thrips, aphids, spider mites, and whiteflies. Joe suggests using beneficial insects to remove and prevent insect pests.
Plants in greenhouses can be affected by diseases as well - like powdery mildew, downy mildew, and fungal blight. These diseases can be removed and prevented with environmental controls - like regulating vapor pressure deficit levels - and biological materials.
AmHydro Systems Experts provide in-depth instruction on identifying pests and diseases during our Introduction to Crop Production Seminars in Humboldt County, California.
