Well done kids.... So glad for your review of my country and all your observations are exactly right . What I want to ask you is to please my beautiful city which is never given a lot of visits by the bloggers to be promoted as one of the great experiences to explore in the Philippines....Davao City and it's surrounding beautiful natures 8n Bukidnon area and samal Island beaches to dive or snorkel. It's because of the unfair old perceptions about Mindanao....but things are totally different now in mindanao. Hope you'll include Davao. BTW I use to live in USA 42 yrs...I'll be returning there this yr for good.

Perception is different from actual experiences, majority of Filipinos who left the country for work abroad have negative points of view and always give some negative comments for you guys but we are glad you are correcting some comments, that people change, governance change and progress is accepted while bringing their lives for the better, no country is perfect wherever you are and the way tourism now in the Philippines is growing much faster because of social media, it helps and it's time to see for yourselves what these vlogging tourists say...thank you biscuit boys for the validation.

They need a reason for leaving the country, but most of them don't have deep knowledge about the Philippines because they were sold that the country is bad by the daily news that the mainstream media spread every day and by the leftist mentality that most Filipinos learned from some politicians and broadcasters. Not to mention that before they leave, they don't have any country to compare it to.

All those pinoys that insult their country while escaping to greener pastures are cowards,you heard me cowards They'll blend in with the lifestyle of north america,western europe or what have you,they're embarassed to be filipino They had the skills to improve the ph but instead chose to run but they'll shout pinoy pride whenever diaz snatches another medal If you're leaving to provide for your family that's understandable but what gives you the right to sell out/insult your country Good to see foreigners see the potential in the ph while the colonial crab minded peenoise Will run at the first sign of trouble

You're not alone guys. When I went back to the Philippines with my family after several years here in the USA, I was shocked by the traffic and the long hours of commute. There are legit certain areas in Mindanao that are DANGEROUS because of certain groups but those are too far in the City or on the Mountain areas. The Mindanao has a lot to offer aside from clean white sand beaches we have cheaper food and fruits to try on! People are genuinely friendly and approachable. I hope you did enjoy your stay ❤️

3:39 It's true the public transport & heavy traffic is just horrendous in the Philippines. I know efforts are being made in constructing subways, MRTs and other mass transportation system, but until then one could only hope. 17:16 Yes, people can speak English because it's being taught in school at all levels from preschool, grade school, highschool up to college level or universities. I believe the media, movies & television also has a huge role on that aspect. 😃👍

Isaac and Tyler please read this. I think you guys are fast becoming locals now. Your observations are pretty good and spot on. What other travellers (vloggers or not) and tourists do not even have the perspective of the PH like you do. I think you are "getting" it. Other (Asian) countries may have better transport, quieter, cleaner (not that PH should not have or aim for the same) but the difference with Metro Manila (or the rest of PH) are really the people and no money or modernity can compare to that. There's a lot of heart in the PH. A lot of care, passion and love going around. It is not just money money money ( and yes those that scam you or people who ask for money are just a byproduct of how cheap it is in the PH so there is poverty ( they are not inherently bad ) but at the same time it is not all about poverty in PH which the media & some travellers / tourists do love to highlight. Most people are just like any other regular people in other countries (neither rich nor poor) if not better of in that they live simply (it is a tropical island country, so people live the island life - one does not need a lot to live simply and simplicity does not necessarily mean poverty) meanwhile so called "developed" countries have regular people drowning in debt and will probably live their whole lives in debt. So I find it ignorant when travellers or tourists make negative comments or unnecessary comparisons between the PH and other Asian countries. These are probably the same people who doesn't give a tip, who would like to pay as cheap as possible or not give back to the communities they visit. They just come and take, take, take and take advantage of the kindness of the Filipinos' good heart. When you move on to other countries to explore. I guarantee you that you will never experience the same as you have in the PH. You will dislike the inconveniences in the PH sure (locals do too and as frustrated if not much more as you would) but you will miss the PH terribly. So savor every moment of your time there and keep on discovering the little things that make the PH & the Filipinos different (special). Do not it for granted. Much luck to you both. ❤

Good observations guys. You are so good to accept and be patient about all these things. Others would have complained and keep complaining and compare how much better it is somewhere else like the USA as point of comparison and then conclude how the Phils is not good based on US standards or somewhere else. Remember this is Third World country and these things we also wish improved a lot. So, thank you for your understanding and patience and most of all honest but not bashing the Phils but definitely there is a lot of room for improvement and for things to be more efficient. Yeah that's an honest opinion with your 6months experience here. So glad that most of my questions were talked about cost of living, transportitaion , safetiness and general perspective from staying here.. Been able to travel from different countries, I definitely agree of how much time consuming in most everyday transactions here, the que line whenever you purchase & made payment, travelling from one destination to another etc. the slow system were really irritating most of the times. Sad to say never experienced it from other countries at all especially the very fast pacing life style there. But we're still hoping for more fast improvement changes to enjoy an easy way of living all over the country.

Americans have been a part of Philippine history. Clark in Pampanga and Subic Bay are two former American military bases. We always stay at Clark when we have a road trip up north. Corregidor Island is where a lot of Filipino and American soldiers died. If you visit Corregidor you’re gonna see a lot of military barracks and large cannons and the Malinta tunnel where the Japanese soldiers blew themselves up towards the end of WW2. There are also a lot of fallen American and Filipino soldiers in Mt Samat at Bataan

Wow! This is one of the best honest "review" and recap of your experiences. You are spot on. So true about the "danger" side of living here, but it's just a way of us, Filipinos, to inform you to be extra careful, but at the end of day, you're still safe. The waiting is true too, the process/system should be improve. You are one of my favorite youtubers, because you are the only ones who are doing things that ordinary Pinoys do, as shown in MOST of your vlogs, like commuting, eating at fast foods and etc, you're not doing them just for the sake of the vlog, you are literally living the life of the majority, that's why your observations are genuinely spot on. I hope that you'll stay longer, and I know for sure that you will definitely miss the 🇵🇭 once you decided to move in to another country, because there's no other country that will offer you, friendliness/hospitality, no language barrier and cheaper cost of living, ALL COMBINED.

What I like about you guys is that, one can tell that you guys are really smart. The observations are on point. When you mentioned that Lays and other brands are more expensive, that is because they are imported. Those that are locally produced like Nova, will surely cost a lot less. The locals also live on tighter budget. The DAILY minimum wage in Metro Manila is around 500+ pesos , and for many families, they have to live with that amount, which includes their daily meals, budget for utililies, rent, transportation, etc. On the other end of the spectrum, there are also a lot of affluent people, especially in Metro Manila and other big cities, who can afford luxury goods, and eating out like you guys, on a daily basis. Now that I think about it, it is really crazy! 😊😊😊

The comments about Cebuano hospitality/friendliness stung for a few seconds, then I realized they're quite accurate 😅 Cebuanos aren't exactly rude per se, it's probably more like having an IDGAF view on things? We're probably the Filipino version of New Yorkers haha. Another commenter mentioned that the Cebuano accent might also be a factor since it's more terse and abrupt than Tagalog and other Filipino languages. Like, people from Cebu and Negros Oriental have the same language, but my Negrense cousins sound so sweet when they speak and I just end sounding angry when compared to them lol
@CharnelWhispers

As a fellow Cebuano, I didn’t even realize how much we don’t give AF about a lot of things until you mentioned it 😂 Then I thought of my circle of friends and how we casually make ruckus when we hang out and nobody around us will give AF about us. As long as we’re not doing anything illegal or troublesome, nobody will give AF. I feel like it has become an unwritten rule in Cebu though. With that said, I believe we’re no less friendly or happy than any other Filipinos. We’re usually pretty chill and we know how to have fun. Also, I think our exposure to foreigners or international tourists in general is one of the factors why these two felt like Cebuanos are timid or aloof as compared to other locals. We’re so used to foreign tourists that we don’t really feel anything special when they’re around since foreign and local travelers are daily encounters in Cebu. There’s nothing new or special about them being here in Cebu.

True, Filipino English language skills are easier to understand than any other Asian countries. And it's the only country in Asia that has more English speaking people. Americans taught the English language since back in the days when they took over after Spanish colonization in the Philippines.

I like how, unlike other foreign vloggers traveling or staying in this country, you seem to have had a deeper and more accurate feel for what it's like over here versus, for instance, just staying in BGC or, on the flipside, going to poor or remote areas, or just commenting on how great the beaches are. You've actually lived here and gotten a more well-rounded insight on what it's like. LOL on converting prices in other countries to pesos. IKR. Love your vlogs. More power. You're also not like other vloggers who are like Filipino-baiting or something. You're really just vlogging vlogging, if you get what I mean. Not saying, wow this is GREAT in the Philippines. LOL. Appreciate the honesty. Also in contrast to other expat Americans who actually whine about every little thing such as, for instance, the fish here having bones LOL. Like they don't even take time to get the proper perspective and start criticizing. You, in contrast, have really immersed yourselves in the culture and way of life as much as you could, before commenting. Good job.

Thank you for sharing your honest thoughts on the Philippines. I just watched your video and am happy listening to your thoughts. A lot of changes are happening now in the Philippines and much more are expected for a better Philippines. When all the new lines of trains and expressway will be done in 2 to 3 years time, the traffic situation will decongested and travel will be more easier and convenient. Well the English of Filipinos are far better than other Asian neighbors because English language is the Medium o Instruction in school in the Philippines and it was introduced by the American Educators way back then. Besides, Philippines was under the US government way back 1902 to 1946 and from that time we have the same presidents as in the Mainland USA. It was only after 1946 that Philippines got the full autonomy; it continued the Democratic form of government. Philippines is a slow paced country compared to the Western, but life here is more easy and relax. I hope guys you stay for long and enjoy your stay.

Yes, Iloilo, City of Love because they are friendly and soft spoken. They say you can’t even tell if they’re mad (unlike for example, Batangeuños and I’m Batangueña which is a Dialect of Tagalog/Filipino. Iloilo speaks Ilonggo, a different language). I’ve been to Cebu too for work and they’re not that hospitable but when I went again with a co-worker who’s Bisaya and can speak Bisaya (another, different language), people felt warmer. Idk why, but this is just an observation. It’s not that they’re rude, just less warm than when I’m with someone who can speak their language, like a totally different experience.

Love your vlogs, you give very honest authentic thoughts. New subscriber here. 😊 If you want a very chill yet urban vibe, Iloilo is a nicer place to stay. People are very kind and friendly but will generally give a respectful distance and mind their own business. It’s very safe too. You can hop on a bike and just pedal throughout the City even at night! Not to mention it’s not that crowded unlike Manila. I have the privilege to work remotely so if the hustle and bustle of Manila kinda drains me, I hop off to Iloilo.
