Those fans singing outside? You can HEAR THEM in the Stadium. Like in the halls and everything. You won't be really able to tell on the actual seats, because the ones inside are even louder. I used to live top floor in a city like 4 streets away from a stadium (open, no roof), whenever there was a game, I would open the window and hear the fans.

It is a kind of pseudo-religion to a lot of fans, ultimately it is us representing our city/area, in the US the fans seem to be just customers, in Europe the fans are part of the game, we're one with our club, even if we're not doing well, our club is our club, its about pride in your city, the guy stood next to you feels the same thing, as does everyone else, the home stadium is basically our cathedral, away from home youre going into someone elses house trying to storm their fortress

The first one is Dynamo Dresden. They used to be a football powerhouse of the former East Germany (German Democratic republic, 1949-1990) but after the reunification they are kinda mediocre and laughing stock since the money mostly stayed in the former West. So they got the mentality that instead of being laughed at for being Ossies ("Easterners") they will rather get FEARED for being ones. On stadium, it is really intimidating, and they go out in big numbers and always keep united colours, so it is really big.
