The English guy in conversation here is what we call in the UK "taking the piss" i.e teasing the Americans in a joking way.

the water does make a difference to the taste of the tea. America will never learn how to make decent tea until they have kettles that boil the water rather than cutting off at 95 centigrade. I spent so much time laughing that I missed half the dialogue.This was absolutely terrific more of theses please.

"until they have kettles that boil the water rather than cutting off at 95 centigrade" And until they realise that a (decent quality) teabag (Americans pour proper loose-leaf tea into the harbour, apparently) is actually designed to produce something that has a FLAVOUR - and not merely to impart the merest hint of a light rusty tone to the water, only made opaque by the addition of half a pint of milk ;-) BTW: I'm not sure that too many Americans actually _have_ electric kettles - given that their electricity supply runs at a schoolgirlish 110v!

it is that after biscuit mouthful of tea....swallow and the uncontrollable need to say 'aaaaaaaaaah' while exhaling deeply that gets me. it just leaves you feeling refreshed in every way. you can cope with anything as long as you get regular tea breaks - even our army tanks have built in tea -urns. (our best battle tank the challenger 2 has 2 tea urns - think im joking? check it out lol! )

Nope, builders tea for me every time. Strong, with sugar, and in a mug! Can't function until I've had 3 mugs of tea in the morning.

@@gazzie12000 I love a good cup of tea but I cannot drink it at the start of the day, it has to be one strong mug of coffee to get me going. Later in the day it is tea by choice.
