Can't believe Joe identified rhubarb as a diuretic just from the taste. For our American friends rhubarb is a classic British ingredient in deserts often used in sweet pies and crumples. Delicious and cheap because it grows like a weed anywhere. The stalks are the edible part which go a deep red colour when ripe. As kids we would pluck them from hedgerows snap off the large broad leaf and the flared base of the stem peel of the outer skin then dip them in a little sugar ( extremely tart almost like lemon) and crunch them like candy.

Yorkshire tea is the best, but you need a little bit of milk in there. You need to mix the teabag up, squeeze it against the side of the mug, then add milk until its the colour of Hemans face and then it's perfect.

It’s kind of cute seeing you all get excited discovering the comfort of dunking a biscuit in a cup of tea, just like we did as children. I will say that in my opinion the only hard and fast rule when it comes to making a cuppa, is don’t heat the water in the microwave, always either use an electric or a stove top kettle…a pot in a pinch. Otherwise it honestly doesn’t taste right. But as for milk, sugar, honey, lemon bag in or out, that’s all personal preference as far as I’m concerned. Though I will advise that some biscuits are better dunkers than others, as in some just disintegrate as soon as they come into contact with the tea and others can withstand a little absorption time.

Yorkshire tea with cold milk and if you want a little sugar but not too much especially if you’re going to dunk sweet biscuits in it. Or if you can find some loose leaf tea ( Yorkshire again) a tea-pot and a tea strainer, not an infuser, it will taste totally different. As for the cold milk my choice is to use whole milk or at a pinch 4% milk but if you can’t get either of those, “Don’t use 2% or skimmed milk.”

The only way they could have got this more wrong is if they boiled the water in the microwave. Still funny, though.

Sorry, but you need to redo this video with proper teas but not without milk. When it says black tea on the label we add milk. Herbal and fruit teas we don’t add milk too. If necessary you can add sugar.

We have Lipton sweet tea in the UK, but most UK tea is either herbal or like the Yorkshire tea type . But the Yorkshire type tea, most Brits will have milk in it too, plus we don't leave the tea bag in while drinking. As it just makes it strong as the longer the tea bag straps the stronger it gets.

1:14 in you dont leave the bag in once ready to drink, you should use hot but not boiling water as boiling water will burn the leaves and release bitter tannins into the drink, a splash of milk and sugar is optional as is lemon or honey depending on the blend of tea. Never make it with a microwave if you wanted to get a full flavor using whole leaf team will give you the best flavor profile from tea. But above all else dont leave the bag in or squeeze the bag when you take it out. Well I’m old fashioned and even though we use tea bags we still use a tea pot. A far better way, although not so many do now, as it gives a more mellow flavour than making in a mug. Good effort but tea needs super hot literally just boiled (in a kettle or on a stove not in a microwave) water, pour it onto the teabag and leave to steep for a minute or so - you can speed it up by lightly squeezing the bag against the side of the cup with a teaspoon but it supposedly makes the tea more bitter. Once it's nice and dark TAKE OUT THE TEABAG. This is essential and I'm pretty sure it's illegal to leave a teabag in the cup. Then add milk until the tea is the colour of He-Man - a golden browny-beige. The ideal US milk would be 2% which is known as semi-skimmed in the UK. Add a teaspoon or two of sugar if you like (I don't). Then you are ready to introduce biscuits.

taylors do great teas, my personal favourite is taylors assam, when brewed properly it has such a deep rich taste thats almost malty

Taylors tea is made by the same company that makes Yorkshire Tea, they also have a range of coffees called Taylors of Harrogate.
