So lemme br-br-brake it down for ya (if you don't get the reference then you can't sit with me): 1. "Nu pogodi" is a very old cartoon which still probably is one of the most popular ones. It is about a wolf chasing a rabbit. The rabbit represents a good person who is very healthy and active and the wolf is very UNhealthy, he smokes a lot (which you could see) and all of that. So the phrase "nu, pogodi!" means "wait till I get you!" And that's what the wolf says to the rabbit in the end of every episode after another fail attempt to get him. 2. "Cheburashka" is another oldie. It tells a story of a toy called Cheburashka who though he would never find friends because he looks nothing like the rest of the toys. But then he meets this crocodile called Gena (who one of the girls in the video called a dinosaur) and they make really good friends. 3. Masha and the Bear is about this really annoying little girl called Masha who won't stop bothering the bear constantly asking him to play

You left out the best one- Winnie Pooh. I know that Americans have their own version, but they're really different. I personally prefer the Russian one, he's much funnier and more of a three dimensional character than the American one.

I have requested a video of people reacting to Russian/Soviet animation but I was also expecting Socialist Realism like The Frog Princess, The Scarlet Flower, The Golden Antelope, The Tale of Tsar Saltan etc. those were truly beautiful and are somewhat on Disney's level but I'm glad they at least showed Nu Pogodi! I spent my childhood in Cuba, where few times they'd played these cartoons and I loved them :)

I'm from Russia and I enjoyed watching their reactions. Made me smile. Thank you for humor and kind words! Means a lot. As for me I was born in 1990, so the cartoons I was growing up with were a mix of Soviet, Russian, European and of course amazing American ones which couldn't help but make a huge and everlasting impression upon me and they still do (Zootopia, Big Hero 6 etc. for instance). P.S. Masha and the Bear is popular all over Europe and Central Asia, getting popular all over the world. Some of the episodes on KZfaq have reached 500 million views.

They complain about smoking in old Russian cartoons, as if Disney and Warner Bros didn't feature smoking, drinking, and violence in most of their cartoons back in the day. Tom & Jerry and Looney Tunes are just a couple of examples, you can find plenty of non-child appropriate scenes from Western cartoons here on KZfaq. Also, how come you didn't show them Ejik v Tumane?! It's borderline iconic.

I’ve noticed a lot of russian cartoons tackle really deep subjects with really lighthearted characters (like Чебурашка /cheburashka) or make you sympathize with the supposed “antagonist” (the bear from Masha and the bear) which I think is so neat! I wish you guys did a part two and included letuchiye korabel (летучий корабль) , cmeshariki (Смешарики) and prostakvashino (простаквашино)!

Not really. It actually followed the original book and was much funnier. Winnie was much more selfish and greedy, Piglet was much more childish, the owl was a lady, Donkey (what's his name in the English version?) was actually clinically depressed and the rabbit was a know-it-all. What I'm saying is that the characters were more interesting.
