Whether you replace the factory wheels of your Ford F-150 with larger ones, or there’s a height imbalance between the front and rear of the truck, you should install Rough Country 2-Inch Leveling Strut Extensions to retain ride quality. These spacers introduce 2 inches of height to the front to level with the back, thus improving the balance and handling of the F-150. These extensions are made to accommodate up to 33-inch tires.

Your customer service is a joke. Been dealing with them for 3 weeks fighting over missing parts to a bumper and they won't ship the parts. Offered to send me a $50 credit. That doesn't make my bumper complete.

5:24 just like the last leveling kit video we see Adam properly instructing us to tap lightly on the rotor to ease it off. Just before doing his best Thor impression from Avengers End Game. I love it.

The RC instructions state specifically not to use an impact when installing the spacer and to torque the nuts to 30 ft lbs. Unfortunately, while I was torquing to 30 lbs the spacer made an audible 'crack' and there is a hairline crack at the thin part of the spacer where the nut goes. Do yourself a favor and get the aluminum ones. Rough Country has good customer service and they're taking care of it for me. But it sucks that my truck is stuck on jack stands for now.

Little tip for people that he doesn't say is. Once u install the pucks on the struts u have to turn the struts around then how you took them out. So a out will be actually facing inward now.

Anyone have issues with the upper control arm hitting the strut spring when the suspension is at full droop? Ik some ppl have had issues with other kits but unsure about this one.

Lightly tap on the rotor AKA beat the hell outta it with a dead blow. LOL. Great video. Installing this on my buddy’s truck. I made fun of him for buying a 2WD but now I’m glad he did. No messing with that actuator.

Living in the northeast, going without 4WD is definitely a gamble for the winter months. There's definitely benefits of having 2WD if you don't need 4x4! Thanks for watching! -Zach

@@americantrucks thanks! Your channel and store have been a great guide for my trucks upgrades. Right when I got home from the spacers/alignment, I tossed on a set of 17 inch raptor wheels wearing 285/70r17 BFG T/A KO2. Recalibrated Speedo with a superchips flashcal and now I'm all set! Thanks for teaching me the right way to do things. It costs a bit but the piece of mind is priceless.

Just installed these on my 2017 F150 XLT (RWD). A couple differces from the video. My struts were not held on by a single bolt through the bottom bushing like in the video. Mine had two bolts that were pressed into a piece that was attached to the bushing. So taking it off was a little more difficult. Then i had to work the bushing to angle the opposite way since installing these makes you flip the strut 180 degrees from the original installation. Also both my drivers and passenger side struts were the exact same part so i ended up having to go "A Out" on both sides. Also i was able to do this without touching any brake parts and leaving the hub attached to the bottom control arm.

Thank you for reiterating you have to pull vacuum to the hubs! Too many other install tutorials where that is never mentioned. Is the vacuum tool available on your website?

Very good video! Just a little confused why its nessessary to remove caliper, steering knuckle, CV, etc. I've done a 2" on a 2004 4wd, and wasn't needed to remove all those parts.

that's what the instructions from the manufacturer says to do but it's definitely not needed in the slightest you can definitely do it by removing 7-11 nuts total. 1. upper control arm nut to the steering knuckle 2. Sway bar end link bottom or top nut. (Or if you prefer the 4 bolts holding the sway bar to the chassis.) 3. 3 15mm nuts holding the strut in place up top 4. Bottom strut nut. 5 tierodend nuts.

So the strut is reinstalled 180 out? I don’t understand how the studs are going to lineup on the top.

Im in the process of installing now. Yes it flips them 180. Which is a pain in the butt for mine because my strut does not go in the same way on the bottom as the one in the video. And i had to work the bushing to rotate the other way.

Factory UCA have no spacers. Style on this blue truck is aftermarket. Yes alignment is recommended.

I was able to get these installed by my local shop Offroad Warehouse. They used the factory upper control arms with no modifications needed. Alignment is HIGHLY recommended after any level spacers. They did so to mine and provided the spec sheet when complete.

Wouldn't starting the truck pull vacuum on the actuator without having to use a pump?

If you remove the sway bar and drop the lower control arm, you won't have to remove the brakes, IWE or disconnect any ball joints.

He mentions in the video that with a 2" leveling kit you can fit 33s, but it's very tight and MAY rub the liner at extreme turning angles. If you regularly turn your wheel all the way (say, you have to make a tight turn every day) and don't want to hear the noise of the tire wearing a hole in the liner, you may have to cut it

Honestly if you're careful you don't even need the pump or anything. Just feel for the teeth to line up smoothly and be careful with it and you're good.

Vacuum is measured inHg "Inch of mercury" not pounds, and there is no reason to pull a vacuum to remove the axle from the hub. There is also no reason to remove the entire knuckle.

That’s what I was thinking.. I’ve heard people just pry down only removing a couple bolts.. way easier than all this, this is safe… but kinda more than necessary

Way over complicated, check out ford tech makuloco ..I literally just finished watching his strut replacement, the only thing that was removed was the tie rod.

We typically follow the manufactures install guide for any given part. However I will say the video you are referencing is of a completely different truck, that utilizes a different style of strut mount. On top of that, he is installing a stock strut/spring assembly- We're adding an additional 2" to the strut assembly which means you need more play in certain components to get the taller unit in place. I do enjoy his channel though. -Justin

@@americantrucks ah yeah that's the difference is there is already a coil spring lift on the front, but still you needed to pull apart the CV? great video, I think this is the video I need to follow for my truck. very nice install video, Im getting this leveling kit because of this video
