Yes! Everyone knew the dance. Especially the ending. It’s like listening to Macarena without seeing the dance.

I have a suggestion that he could do that as a Tuesday Night Hangout - listen to either original live classic performances of songs but also (and foremost IMO) listen all those songs he got wrong and listened to the wrong non classic versions of. Like these ones: - Agnetha Fältskog & Ola Håkansson - The way you are (radioversionen) - Susanne Alfvengren & Mikael Rickfors - Som stormen och river öppet hav (radioversionen) - Lasse Holm - Canneloni Macaroni (Swedish original version in swedish and its music video) - Grymlings - Mitt bästa för dig (radioversionen) - Peter Lundblad - Ta mig till havet (radioversionen från 1986) And as you mentioned also these live performances: - Carola - Främling (original live TV performance with classic yellow dress and hands up in the air at the end) - Herrey - Diggeloo-Diggeley (original live TV performance in Swedish from the Eurovision) And I am sure there are more songs to fill out this list that he either got wrong versions of or that some people want him to react to other versions of. (I know I have seen some people suggesting they would like to hear original version of “Fred”). That would be a lovely Tuesday 🥰

The fun part for the Brits was that the song reads: Dig a loo (toilet), dig a lay We also participated with Waterloo (water loo) with ABBA, so they (the Brits) wondered what it’s all about with Swedes and toilets. 👍

The brits had a field day with this; they even made a song that went something like: Swedes like going to the loo, dig a loo a waterloo. To top it off, a year or so later we sent another song called Boogaloo (Lotta Engberg). To this day I’m still not sure if it was only to take a piss (pun intended) on the brits. 😂

WOW that song took me back a few years haha. Louis is today a teacher among other things, Per is a writer and an attorney, Richard is all over the place so to speak, he had a small part in FAME the tvshow back in the early 80s.

”Flickan och kråkan” - Mikael Wiehe (orginalet) eller Timbuktu (cover) Ikaros - Björn Afzelius Öppna landskap - Ulf Lundell För länge sen så ville en massa svenskar att Öppna landskap skulle bli våran nya nationalsång. Jag var inte en av dom, men det är definitivt en klassiker.

Texten till 'Ikaros' är fantastisk, jag hoppas att Jonathan reagerar på den framöver. 'Flicka och kråkan' och 'Öppna landskap' är också värdiga klassiker, så klart. Fast kanske har han redan hört 'Öppna landskap', den kan vara svår att undgå om man varit några somrar i Sverige.

As a seven year old boy, this was my absolute favorite song. And they was my first musical idols. And I always get a good feeling when I here it. But you got to see there scenehow, it's hilarious 😂

This one brings back so many memories! I was ten years old and had just recently (the year before with Carolas "Främling") discovered Melodifestivalen and Eurovision. I was all into it and a bit obsessed, I really took it very serious! I loved this song and remember so well the voting part of the european final. I was so nervous that I couldn't sit still, I just ran back and forth to the bathroom. And when they won ... I was so happy I cried, and I couldn't sleep at all that night. And then the song was played everywhere and all the time. Nostalgia banger, if nothing else. And btw, you DID react to Carola "Fångad av en stormvind" which was our third Eurovision win (1991).

Whether you call it schlager or dansbandmusik or pop, it's good. At first, I was taken aback by its unalloyed optimism. But I found myself coming back to it from time to time. It's infectious. I finally decided that if I couldn't stay away from it, it must really be good. Once I gave myself permission to like it, well, now I don't mind saying that I love it. It really is great.

Det här en en av mina bästa feelgood-låtar of all times, men dansen, dansen och uppträdandet är hela grejen Jonathan! Vi lärde oss rörelserna inför skoldiiscot. Och alla var kär i nån av bröderna. There was a lot of discussions in the media at that time about the Herrey Brothers being active Mormons. They were asked such thing as if they were wearing that body underwear that all young male Mormons should wear (probably to make it harder to have sex). The youngest of them, Louis Herrey, is now a bishop within the Mormons, and headmaster of their school. The middle one, Richard Herrey isn't religious anymore, but instead he is the only Eurovision-winner that has become a member of the Swedish parliament (representing Moderaterna).

Thanks! This was my first musical heroes, I was 10 when they won the Eurovision. Remember sitting with my compact cassette player and recording everything from the radio while watching TV. So a few more suggestions: - I am a Kent fan, so here is one of my favorites you have not done: La Belle Epoque. Still so accurate. I say they deserve the Polar prize. - You have never done Soundtracks of our lives, one of the greatest Swedish bands. One suggestion is "Bigtime"

As I'm sure many others will tell you, you should really watch the live performance with the "boyband" dancing, the live orchestra etc; this song doesn't really come alive in this studio recording where their voices are, as you point, a litte bit drowned out.

Have you heard off the 20 year nostalgia? That we become nostalgic over things that happened 20 years ago. Example Grease 1978, 20 years after the 50’s. I believe that’s why you are getting a 60’s vibe from this.

The herreys lived in utah too for few years as teenagers .utah being the centre of mormonism. Richard left mormonism in 80s and 2 of pers 5 sons have left as well as louis 2 sons. Louis is mormon teacher

This song was the reason that I gave up watching the Eurovision all those years ago. This was the year after the religous teenager Carola won, and this was the nail in the coffin for me. A few years earlier Magnus Uggla took part with Johnny The Rucker, and that was the best schlagerlåt ever and it finished in last position. Go figure.

I think I would have felt that way too, if I was around your age. But back then, I was a kid and I loved Carola and Herrey's. They made me discover "melodifestivalen". But I didn't like when Kicki Danielsson and Lotta Engberg won, they were too much dansband and grown up music. In the 70's and early 80's, The winners were Abba, Björn Skifs, Ted Gärdestad and Tomas Ledin. Then Bert Karlsson had too much influence on melodifestivalen, or if it just was the 80's?

Den här låten var med på "dagens felhörning" på radion förra veckan. Personen som ringde in hade alltid trott att de på ett ställe i låten sjöng "Tänk dig ett hinder, ett finger i röven". Lyssna själv, de sjunger det exakt 4.58 minuter in i denna videon. Det roliga var att Rickard Herrey satt i studion, å han hörde samma sak när de spelade upp det.

You have to watch the choreo in the performance. :) I think it's 'diggi-lee' in eng to rhyme with 'me' and 'diggi-ley' in swe to rhyme with 'mig' and 'sig'.

Did not you react to Carolas Fångad av en stormvind? That won the eurovision. This was a new sound for eurovision at the time, but a bit of schlager and the 80s.

Tommy Körberg var det väl? Han gillade inte Herreys och det var stora rubriker i kvällstidningarna om det. Varför nu han var tvungen att ha en åsikt om saken. Jag avskydde Tommy Körberg av hela mitt hjärta i flera år efter det... 😆

Såvitt jag minns växte bröderna H upp i USA. Är väl därför du känner som du gör. De var helt okända för oss, kallades av många "De dansande deodoranterna!". Totalt osvenska.
