Great video! Love double dipping as a Hilton Diamond member / Marriott Titanium member and booking through FHR. I know people often say using Amex points through their portal isn't optimal, but I stayed 4 nights at the Ritz Carlton in Waikiki and got significantly more value booking through FHR as opposed to transferring points to Marriott first. $240 in breakfast credit and they were offering a $400 property credit if you booked 4 nights on top of the already given $100 benefit. So although I got 1 cent per point on the booking, I got $740 in food credit! That's much better than 2 cpp in my opinion

Nice Video, Just stayed at the Conrad Osaka this week for two nights for our Anniversary. I didn't use my FHR since I used my free stay certificate and one night with points. My favorite Hotel. Great video.

Booking through FHR and entering your Hilton membership in the loyalty field does provide Hilton points. I just came back from my Mexico vacation and I booked Conrad Tulum through FHR and I got points when I check my Hilton app

For Conrad Tulum it was just points. No credits even though I’m Diamond. Some hotels honor both FHR credits and your Diamond/Gold credits

I check my Amex offer tabs every so often and I’m usually on one of the credit card forums, folks would post new or interesting offers There are apps out there that automatically add all offers for you too

@@VincentXGoh That’s a great tip, thank you! Do you know the updated benefits for additional card holders versus the companion card? I can’t even get a clear answer from AMEX. Seems like this has changed and now additional users do not receive most of the benefits, even for the $195 fee. It’s all so confusing!!

I think the biggest benefits would be access to the lounge as a Platinum authorized user And AU can use the same offer that’s on the primary card but it all count as one so if AU uses the offer or perk then primary user won’t be able to use it anymore

@@VincentXGoh Makes sense. I saw all these videos (I’m assuming old) that were saying the AU gets their own set of benefits like the Uber, flight, hotel credits etc, but that’s not the case, at least not anymore. Thanks for clarifying, I’m watching so many of your videos and learning a lot!

Hello, you will need to book through AmexTravel portal and filter by Fine Hotels & Resort property, that’s the only way you’ll get FHR Benefits. While checking out in the AmexPortal you can enter your loyalty number, in my video I showed Hilton as an example.

Virgin Hotel Las Vegas is not part of Amex’s FHR Program or The Hotel Collection. No benefits from using Amex Platinum Card So I’d book directly through Hilton site

Similar, Crockfords Las Vegas does not allow stacking both benefits. And same with some international properties such as Waldorf Astoria Versailles Trianon Palace. FHR provided breakfast for two and Diamond status allows you the breakfast buffet. You can’t ask for food credit for use at another meal.

Do hotels honor your status if you're using a third party to book the stay? I've heard the hotel may not honor status if done through 3rd party?

With AMEX FHR they do, there are many data points of other folks having the same experience on Flyertalk or Reddit where the hotels recognize their status when booking through FHR. I believe it is a contract the hotels have with Amex but it is up to each property's discretion

Hilton and Hyatt do for sure. Not sure about other smaller and boutique chains.
