Morad go vroom! As one of many who are into iRacing but lack real world experience, your insight into how realistic the components of the software are are very helpful in understanding exactly how silly I should feel when I tell my friends "it's realistic".

@@danielmorad After many races on this track with LFM/rF2.....then watching you go through the course and explaining it's nuances made me happy. I think the rF2 version is pretty close after watching you do it in your sweet mac daddy AMG. My dream car and the one I always default to in any sim. OH....and that is the biggest thing sim racing is totally missing. I need a cockpit with adjustable wheel and pedals like your real car. That must be so nice to dial in that quick with ergo. Thanks again for another awesome vid!

@@danielmorad There is an AC mod. I live very close to Nola and use the sim for drift practice before events. Track surface is much smoother in sim so it's not really ideal on realism.

set up change: softer springs, maybe toe out the left rear. my thought is softer springs allow the suspension to extend with the weight transfer in the final corner when you lift off, versus stiffer springs almost pulling the tire up as the weight moves over the front/left on the lift; toe out maybe so that the tire angle is matching where the oversteer wants to send the rear. like it's fighting the oversteer by pointing the tire out a little so it turns the car rather than flexing the side wall.

I can't get enough of this kind of POV with explanation video. Thank you for taking the time. And now for the challenge question: My best guess is that you want to increase contact of the rear tires with the road in order to reduce oversteer during trail braking. To do that you might reduce rear tire pressure and/or soften the rear springs or anti-roll bar. * now I have to go research this a lot more to see if I could be close.

Great insight. I been binging on your videos. I think number 1 is changing the gearing to a shorter one as your just shifting into 6th gear and then quickly braking on the grandstand straight aways. There's several ways to correct oversteering in a car; soften the front end in dampening of the struts as maybe there wasn't time to change springs or adjust the sway bars like changing the holes or adjust the camber via camberplates would take too long. Adjusting the swaybar bias to the rear more since rear wheel drive, increase tire pressure, as more tire pressure in the front would decrease sidewall rolling and decrease grip, lower tire pressure in the rear would increase grip. Changing tires to change the compound would be an another way, harder in the front or softer rear. I didn't know how much time elapsed and with a 2 driver car and you mentioning used tires rules that out. I'm thinking only 1-2 adjustments would of been made just to tweak the rotation. I think that 2-4 psi was lowered in the rear tires. Autocrosser here for 25 years. I want jump into sim racing as i haven't autocrossed since the Porsche Parade in 2018. I want more seat time and be able to drive race cars as the eSport equipment has come a long ways.

Super interesting video; I feel so well informed now, I wanna go race again! 😊💪 I really like the POV. I wonder if the 80mm extension that will arrive with my new Simucube 2 Pro tmw 🥳, will be enough to replicate as close to irl with my triples. 🤔 anyway! Keep it up Daniel, thanks and have a good weekend. 👋

Great video! Would be nice to make another vid when on a track that´s within iRacing, if your camera setup is exactly the same on track and sim you can compare if your monitor settings do match the reality. ;)

That’s the plan with COTA. I’ll do a lot more content around the similarities and differences.
