I think at some point of time both southern and Sanskrit language were parallel systems, but somewhere Sanskrit infiltrated southern languages because of marger of 2 distinct parallel sanskritis and thereafter southern languages took so many loan words from it as well as Sanskriti too. But there was the story of barbarik in Mahabharata, who comes from south, who did great sadhana of Mata and got the boon. So he was dharmic, and trained in some gurukul or under a guru, and a successful student. So this shows that in southern parts also the system of life was same as northern.

I am a Hindi-speaking person by birth, but I am ashamed on Hindi as it is nothing but the language of slavery. It is a reminder of Persian and Arabic words. Southern languages and cultures remained somewhat unaffected with this Islamic adulteration. I strongly oppose the imposition of an impure version of Hindi on the rest of India as it is nothing but Arabic and Persian. Rather we must encourage the inclusion of Telugu, Kannada, Tamil words in Hindi and eliminate foreign words.

The way she explains the matters it is like as one is seeing the Itihas happening right in front of their eyes. Shanta is elder sister of Sri Ram... Dasarath ji gave her to Rompad Maharaj of Anga desh, because Rompad Maharaj was childless. Rishyasringa is Shanta's husband who did the Putrakamashthi yegnya, as a result of which Sri Ram was born. I revere Ami Ji and Sanjay ji for this informative episode

The books definitely presents many interesting and little known facts about Mahabharata. Truly a great work by the author. They young generation of students must definitely read the book.

dhan dhan prabhu, Our spritual gurus have to explain dharma the actual way like ami mata ji discussed. i always heard wired stories about ramayan and indra and other devta's but after listening Ami mata and a speech from sudhanshu mitra ji about bhawgan ganesh ji , i felt betryaed by all the spritual guru's keep on going like record telling the stories writtin in books by someone without knowing the essance and connection of stories with real life & real people. Sanjay dixit ji i have no words to thank you and charan sparsh to Ami mata ji.

Hearty congratulations to Amiji for her efforts to present Valmiki Ramayana as it is,in English language.I had chance to go through it written by C.Rajgopal Chari and watched TV serial too.Earlier, such discourse are presented by Pandit and Sadhus but I am glad to see IIM students talking part in presentation of our glorious historical heritage.Hats off to her zealous efforts.

There are many excellent works on ramayana ... It's is just an interpretation of a historian . Not necessarily the historian views are acceptable to all common public. Every man who reads ramayana or Mahabharata has his own intelligence and concepts.

Bharteshwari Mata Sira was born in Punaura in Present day Siramarhi of Bihar.Sitamarhi has two important temples one at Punaura where Mata born and one Janaki mandir Sitamarhi where ma Sunaina kept her for some days .Siramarhi is at 74 km from Janakpur Nepal
