0:20 saffron for courage and sacrifice, white for peace and truth, green for faith and chivalry, the eternal wheel of law in the center. another interpretation is: saffron for independance and dissaproval, white for the guiding light, green for plants, and the wheel which moves people forward. 6:18 sudan doesn't mean black in arabic. 6:52 The red and white were chosen because they're the national colours, white representing peace and prosperity, red for the blood spilled for independence. The maple leaf was put in the center because the red maple tree only grows in Canada (and some of the US)

The Philippine colors weren't a tribute to the American flag. The flag was created in late 1890s for the First Philippine Republic and the colors were based on Cuba's flag of independence against Spain.

Fun Fact: Flipping the Philippine Flag upside-down (the red on top and the blue on the bottom) will signify that the country is in the State of War. We Filipinos are really careful of holding the flag.

In the Indian flag, the orange represents the blood of the sacrificed, the white is for peace and the green is a reprensentation of India being an agricultural national. The Ashoka Chakra represents progress as it has 24 lines in it signifying the 24 hours of the day, but it also represents the original 24 states of India, though the latter is debated. Orange != Hindu Green != Muslim

Well in the US at least there's a belief to keep separation of church and state for philosophical reasons and despite what some people might think not all factions of Christianity get a long with each other all the time. When my professor a long time ago mentioned about the style of the country he said it was based off of the 3 major Abrahamic religions of the world that were related, Christianity, Judaism, and Islam in a way I can't really remember or can explain. Having a religious neutral design honors the philosophy the founders were going for. Also I remember coming across some references implying Christianity originally had a stigma with showing religious imagery or idols in the early days. So... in a way we're following Christian rules. I think... (I probably will be wrong in this statement). In other countries though I am very sure they don't have the same thing so it's different for them. Personally I have slight mix feelings of "Christian countries" putting religious imagery on their banners. I believe if someone is going to do so most of the population should actually be Christians and devout. If most of them are atheist than what is the point of having it? Is it just to gain good luck or hopefully win favor and approval of God? God is omnipotent and indifferent towards nations. A country being conquered doesn't mean anything to him because it's part of the great scheme he has. I believe he tends to focus a lot more on the individual person and his soul than the nation he lives in. If someone is going to put religious imagery on stuff it should be the actual devout and religious individuals that do follow the religion and not a pretender or a "cultural Christian" (Someone that just follows customs because it is part of his nations culture, but doesn't really believe in God or follow the rules). I find this very pointless. Putting religious stuff on things should be a purely a choice the true devout do and only on their own personal stuff, not something at a national level where majority of the people aren't really followers.

You're NOT wrong about India. Originally the purpose of Indian flag is exactly as you said. However, over time, people now do not want to associate it with religion and therefore want everyone to focus on new alternate meaning. Brazilian flag, you forgot the colors of the brazilian flag. Green represents our forests and jungles. Yellow repreaents our wealth, (gold, diamond, etc.) Blue represents our sky and rivers. White represents peace.

No, this forest, gold and rivers that they teach in school is bullshit, the Green represents the house of Bragança and the yellow represents the Habsburgs wich were D. Pedro and his wife, and the blue was something that the republicans had to put there to replace the shield of the empire, so they put some of the constalations that you can see in brazilian territory.

I'm not sure about this but in school my 7th grade teacher told me that the 13 points on the maple leaf represents the 10 provinces and 3 territories and the 2 red stripes shows diversity or the white may show diversity. I honestly can't remember it was a long ass time ago
