I got a chance to breathe some life into an antique forgotten tool. I have no clue how old it is, or how many hands it has passed through. The craftsmanship on this thing is insane. I am honored to be in the presence of such a masterpiece. The handle needs to be redone, but I love the way it looks. Inspired by the look of Kratos's axe from God Of War. Thank you for 5,000 subscribers!

Hey! If you need help with getting started woodworking, I can offer some tips! You can send me a message on here, or email me at redboot39@gmail.com. Last year, I made a handle very similar to this one, and ran into similar problems that he did. Hope you take up woodworking during the pandemic! And check out Beau Miles latest videos, he has a lot of good ideas about where to get wood

not for one second will i think this is a fail, not even after the handle breaks. you did a great job and that happy little accident is an opportunity for a wonderful new handle. the work you put into this, the video, that shot at 10:51, the way your sense of humor sneaks in every now and then, amazing. this was posted on the 18th and now you have 10k subscribblers, how cool is that! still underrated channel but i can see it getting a lot of attention in the future.

Would strongly recommend using a steamer to soften the wood and use hickory. Iron wood is far too unyealding and will always crack. You need a wood that will "give" a little. Ash is good too (needs to be aged though). Beautiful restoration of the axe head ㊗️😉

Made a few handles with that same wood with the same results. Density and hardness makes it prone to cracking as it lacks elasticity. That’s why most handles are made out of lighter and elastic wood like hickory or white ash

Wow, I love your videos! Watched your laptop stand video and got thinking: Have you considered making an adjustable height standing desk? Would be a really cool project, potentially very hard or easy, depending on how complex you go. Could have a pulley system (with a motor), or maybe some system you come up with. Very relevant now that so many are working from home too!

Congratulations on your viewer milestone. It's a shame about the handle breaking. I was thinking as you were shaping it that the grain would be a problem. If you have a big enough pot you can boil a new handle blank in water and then clamp it into a form. Extra credit if you can start with an appropriately sized and shaped stick from those woods and split it down. Anyway, thanks for the great content. I look forward to more of your videos.
