Recipes :
French Rhubarb Pie:
1 egg, beaten
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
3 T. Evaporated Milk
2 c. diced Rhubarb
2 T. flour
Topping:
3/4 c. flour
1/3 c. butter, cold
1/4 c. brown sugar
Mix all of the ingredients except the topping and put in an unbaked 8-9 in pie shell. Mix topping until crumbly. Put on top of filling. I don't know that you need all the topping. There's plenty. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 350 for 25-30 min. Enjoy!
Fruit Salad Glaze:
3 c. pineapple juice
a squeeze of fresh lemon
2 c. white sugar
6 T. clear jel
cook the first 4 ingredients until thickened. Cool. Add to fresh cut up fruit or put on top of a fruit pizza. Delicious!
Broccoli Cauliflower Salad :
2 heads of broccoli ( or 1 bunch)
1/2 - 1 head of cauliflower
bacon
shredded cheddar cheese
these are approximate.
Sauce:
2 cups each of sour cream and miracle whip. And some sugar to taste, maybe 1 cup pr less . Dash of salt. I don't know if I used this much or not.. just use as much as you think. You don't want it too thick in the salad.
If you don't have access to Instagram I can try and get the recipes for you via email. They aren't my own, So I'm conscious of that. lynetteyoder.business@gmail.com

My late grandmother was Amish. She married out of the Amish sect. She loved to cook, but unfortunately she wrote down very few recipes. So it's especially nice to watch your video today. It brings back so many fond memories of her. She also lived in Ohio for a time.

I’m a horrible cook but, with pie crust two things that could help are 1) take into consideration the humidity and adjust the water accordingly 2) after mixing and making it into a ball, wrap tightly with plastic film and refrigerate about an hour to get it cold. It will roll out easier and helps keep it together.

So inspiring to see a mom with new born work so hard, here in southern India we rest for a minimum of three to six months. Love your family. God bless the little cutie pie

I think that is awesome, us Americans (namely, us Mennonites) could definitely learn from this and do more of the same. Growing a baby and giving birth is a lot for our bodies and we should rest for a long time, mentally and physically.

@@MrsMitzel90 I agree. I’m not Mennonite or Amish but I am American and we are all truthfully expected to do too much to soon. Especially women with multiple children.

My mother in law lived with us for 8 months. (Asian heritage) you don't go out for 8 months and have very specific rules about things you can't do/eat. (a LONG time ago you couldn't even wash your hair for 8 months). It's definitely nice though and my mother in law is a saint. Especially with my firstborn she helped so much with questions and house work and cooking although I put up plenty of fridge meals. When I had my next ones I got a lot of time to bond with baby or their siblings when she would take either out on the afternoons. Edit: Grammar

A tip...You may want to place a damp cloth under your cutting board so it won't be moving around when cutting items.

I dare anyone to say you neglect your children at ANY time! You honor your culture, your family, and yourself by all that you do. I'm not sure where you find all the hours in the day to do all you do. Sometimes your videos make me tired. I'm like you though my pie crust is hit or miss and I know I really need to work on mine since I eventually want to be as self-sufficient as me and mine can get. I'm originally from Western Maryland and we have a large Amish/Mennonite population. I wish I'd learned to speak Pennsylvania Dutch. I live in Ohio now and my husband doesn't speak it, but can understand it somewhat (comes from years of helping the local farmers bail hay and stuff). I hope you have an amazing week. Your husband would make a terrific diplomat btw.

The fruit salad you made is identical to the one my mother in law makes. We call it “creamy fruit salad”. My son (when he was 14/15) had cancer. Very few food items were tasty to him. Granny’s fruit salad was #1, so of course, during his 9mo of chemo, we had a lot of that fruit salad around. He still loves it and Granny brings it for special occasions. My son is now 26, cancer in remission 11yrs now, college grad, job in his field, married and an 18mo baby girl! The strawberry/feta salad is my most FAV of all salads! Mmm

I enjoyed hearing you speak Pennsylvania Dutch even if I can’t understand much of it. The salads and pie all looked very appetizing. I have never had rhubarb so not sure if I would like it or not. Looking forward to your Holmes County video. I would love to visit there sometime. Safe travels and will see you in your next video.

But my neighbor's wife had a bad stroke, and I know her husband gets tired of cooking all the time so we have been sharing that duty. Now we won't get bored with the same old meals. Thank You. As for your baking efforts, everything you do is an act of creation.🙏😉

Lynette you did a wonderful job making the 🥧 pie crust, really. All the other dishes look delicious. 👌 I am a true southerner from Georgia and we love sweet tea or half & half tea. That is half sweet and half unsweetened tea mixed. Also your blackberry tea look so 😋 yummy. You could substitute the blackberry syrup for Welch Grape Juice with some sugar to sweeten the tea. Diabetics leave the sugar out. Harper is so beautiful and precious. God has blessed your family with 4 perfectly healthy children. Enjoy the wedding and trip, stay safe.
