I Bet current generation composers to do a timeless composition like this .. which gives Goosebumps even after close to 30 yrs .......... He would have got Grammy for this in 1993....if it was sold in USA . I am sorry for him at the same time I am thankful to Mr AR RAHMAN...

still remember the advertisement in Deccan Herald... on July 22 Aalyaam Mani Ratnam AR Rahman Vairamuthu and Magnasound will unleash the music of Thiruda Thiruda .. i had never seen such promo..and it was worth the wait...just amazing music...AR put everything that he had in this album...

Koncham Nilavu (Chandralekha) still mesmerizes me with its deep sounds.. The singing is amazing too (guess originally sung by Anupama). I remember listening to this track with an assembled audio-deck system and the cassette that I had in those days... and the beats used to literally penetrate my body. Can't imagine how such a beautiful arrangement and orchestration was done. The theme music had the same effect. I can feel those beats even now!

Exactly.. That album had a great impact on me.. Donga Donga(Telugu version) songs never get old in my list.. I don't get bored listening to this movie songs. I was in my primary school at that time.. That year, my high school students used to practice dance on "Konta bangaru lokam"(Telugu version of Putham Pudhu Bhoomi) for our school's annual day.. I used to go to their rehearsals not to watch them practice dance but just to listen to that song.. After 30 years, I still listen to that movie songs and that how I landed in this video after KZfaq recommended me this.. Same impact was also created by Thalapathi album by Ilayaraja.

Kamal hassan instead of rajinikanth.. Ilayaraja ARR have produced quality music won then 11 national awards in total.. Rajinikant didn't have quality with his acting to go with iR and ARR but kamal hassan with 3 national awards

This is the elevated level of arr. Every genius at one point of time thinks his WHOLE LIFE WORK is just rubbish. For we Indians there are many scores of arr that are EXTRAORDINARY, but for arr some other work(s) may be more great. For the new listener his other compositions may be great. For new generation his other works may be great. Now his art can be understood only by few or new or NONE.
