At the age of 80 Amitabh Bachchan is doing 5 films a year as a lead role in A grade movies. Who else has such a career in any field at the age of 80. My parents had gone to watch Silsila in 1981 when I was just a year old and because I was crying so much they had to leave the movie half way. In 1984 when the movie Mard was released and I saw the poster of Amitabh Bachchan with "Mard" written on his chest at a tailor shop beneath my school I was affected by that poster when I was in my kg. That was followed by Shaan which was the first Amitabh movie that i saw on big screen. His climax fight with the crocodile just blew me away. Followed by Coolie, Toofan, Shahenshah, Satte pe Satta, Hum, Akayla and not the least Agneepath and Khuda Gawah. They made the impact deeper. I would pester my parents to take me to theatre to watch his movies only. So much so that to miss his entry scene in a movie was a crime. Since then my first and last hero on screen Amitabh Bachchan... Ever since I could remember. Frontwards backwards I cannot see another hero like him on screen having a presence as no other. Even Al Pacino cannot make that impact as his persona on screen. To say that Hindi Film industry can be divided before and after Amitabh Bachchan is an understatement. No other hero, actor or star was, is, can and will come close to his level.
