Nadia Lynn Flaim....she is a beautiful person, with a kind soul and a heart of gold. I know this because I am her Mom. I love her unconditionally . This video was bittersweet.... It's sadly and truly her journey through the last 10 years, but it holds the promise of a better tomorrow and the hope of Nadia my daughter winning over the devil of addiction. Thank you for everyone's kind words and support. To My sweet daughter Nadia...Rise above...beat the odds....Come back to your family.. We love you and miss you!! We know you can do this....One Day At A Time....

It’s always the environment. As a former drug addicted who went on from 13 to 23, and quit using drugs (meth and heroine), and now I am 28.5 and I have still not touched a drug ever since. You really have to go into full isolation mode from that environment and cut ties with everyone you know from there, and only be around your family (if they are healthy!) The only way to get clean is to cut all ties with the drug environment, even friends who party, and friends who want to hang out, who you know are using or used to be on drugs before. If they relapse, then you will too. When you feel lonely, instead of running back to drugs, try to embrace that feeling. At least you are feeling something. You are alive and actually living! And it is only temporary. You will feel lonely, lost, and depressed at least a year or two into being clean. After that you can slowly start to rebuild your life, and eventually make new and healthier friends. I had to let everyone go. Literally every single one I used to do drugs with. The ones who were in rehab, the ones who never went. Even a year after I quit (when I was pregnant with my son), I could barely go into the city, because I would get recognized and approached by former drug “friends” on heroine. So I stopped going into the city all together. It’s been over 5 years, and I have went in to the city perhaps 10 times in total. I actually moved out of the city where I grew up, and found a place in a tiny little village by the countryside just to start over and raise my child somewhere safe, and I have absolutely no ties to that environment. Former drug “friends” eventually stopped trying to lure me back into the drug environment. Because that is what they are all trying to do. On drugs we truly are so selfish that we don’t care about others, we just want company so we won’t have to suffer all alone. They kept trying to lure me back until probably 2 years after I quit, and then I had to take a really big step, and go through all of my Facebook contacts and block everyone I knew from that environment. Even the ones who are now clean. Getting clean is just a fracture of the requirements in order to stay clean. You have to cut all ties with everyone you know from that environment.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite channels on KZfaq. Even though the stories are sad, just from reading the comment sections, the film maker is reconnecting these people who miss and love them. Never to late change your life around. :)

I can feel the pain she has inside. It’s almost like she gets high just so the days will just go by faster and the hell will end sooner. Before I went to rehab (not drugs or alcohol but self-injury), I was waiting for the “intervention” that never happened. I realized that I was the only one going to intervene and decide I was done and to get help. I don’t regret doing it. At some point in spite of the past, you have to decide you’re worthy enough to live.

Thank you for making her feel important when she feels as unimportant as she does. Those mundane questions and her childlike smile made me want to cry. When she talked about her mom and family. 😔 I went to sovereign with her and Joey in California. I can’t tell you how much this hurts my soul to see her like this. She is too funny and bright and aware and beautiful to be where she is right now. Nadia I’m so sorry. These people that see you like this have no idea how incredible you are at your best but I want them to know how much more you are then what they see here. I hate these fuckin drugs and I can’t wait for the day I see you sober and happy again.

Recovery doesn’t care how much you spent, what you did to get your money, only that you have the desire to get clean. We don’t have that type of money to save if we’re doing the right thing.
