Concept of the song and the video: After mourning the death of his wife, Ilmarinen decides to build himself a bride of silver and gold. After finishing the bride and sleeping beside it over night he realises the object is cold and lifeless, which is unpleasant. Eventually the bride is destroyed. Kalevala, chapter XXXVII

In my opinion Amorphis made one of the greatest comebacks in music history with the new singer Tomi Joutsen/Eclipse album, after having been 'not so good' on the three albums after Elegy. I loved Silver Bride from the first listen, but now I'm almost addicted to this song.

I think THE KALEVALA deserves to be mentioned again. This epic song is dedicated to Ilmarinen, the forger of the sky, sampo and the golden woman. Hails to Amorphis and to the entire Finnish music scene, that contains the greatest of all musicians ever!! SUOMI ON PARAS!

No wonder there were so many epic tales of blacksmiths, the tricks of their trade were often closely guarded secrets and the whole process of purifying metals, making new alloys, forging, annealing, hardening etc.were considered supernatural for a long time. Even after studying metallurgy for several years it still isn't all that clear cut, it is after all nanoscale changes that take place in materials, most of the time it is very theoretical, counter intuitive and hard to visualize in any meaningful way.

This is a story from Kalevala, a national epic from Finland, most of the new songs of amorphis are based on this book ( and albums like silent waters) This song tells about Seppo Ilmarinen, a blacksmith who forges a silver bride. But the bride is cold and lifeless, so Ilmarinen forsakes her.

Amorphis is one of the greatest metal bands in history (probably in the Top 3). Tales from the Thousand Lakes Elegy Eclipse Silent Waters Skyforger They've made five albums that are near perfect!

In the Kalevale this poem is called "The Golden Bride".Ilmarinen is the blacksmith and he forges her out of silver.Amorophis is an great band and every album has references to the Kalaevala.

I like how last album they put out silent waters, which was full clean vox. Also the first song I heard by them, then when I got the album and listened to sogs like towards and against, I found out how badass they really were, i'm sure this album will be some of the same

sometimes there is just so much talent in one spot, it's a wonder the monitor doesn't melt or explode. These lyrics are so so good and about such an awesome source you could sing them deadpan atonal and still feel it-I know the band does not write the lyrics, however the combination is incredible.

This whole music video and the name of the song reminds me about Kalevala... There's a story how blacksmith Ilmarinen made himself a new bride of silver after his wife died and Louhi, the ruler of Northland refused to give her another daughter to Ilmarinen...

Berkan Polat Also, Skyforger not only about Kalevala in general, but the in fact handles the story of blacksmith Ilmarinen. That dude forged Sampo, a device that produced wealth, like crops and money. He also did some forging for the sky, both of which are present on the album.

Amorphis is one of the absolute greatest metal bands of all time. They got so damn good again with the Eclipse album. Last time I saw them live was at the Elegy tour. Please come to Sweden soon.

I saw them last year live on Wacken Festival, his voice is on stage even better than on CD .. and he can switch between these two different voices (the high clean voice and the deep growls) in seconds .. really awesome!

Under The Red Cloud is my favorite album by them. Am Universum is good, i like Silent Waters, and Eclipse is pretty sweet. Even "Circle" has its good songs. This song and Death of a King got me into them
