That's because she doesn't have a conscience of anything. A lack of ethics, sympathy, and personal concern leaves you with no vulnerabilities to social issue exploitation. She's not connected to anything. No connection, no feelings, no guilt, no fear; thats why she's comfortable. Its like a serial killer who gets interrogated, you think they care about a few questions? +alonzo9772 You're providing anecdotal evidence (personal experience) instead of the big picture - i.e. data and studies. It's true that not every smoker will die of lung cancer. It just greatly increases the probability of getting cancer. The same thing with growing up in a single parent home. It greatly increases the likelihood of growing up in poverty and encountering the criminal justice system. It's difficult for a single mom to raise even one child by herself, let alone 2, 3, 4, or 5 children. The vast majority of prison inmates are the children of single mothers. Is that a coincidence? No it is not. Children need to grow up in a home with both parents who are also married. Such homes have much lower rates of domestic violence, poverty, criminality, etc. That's not just me. That's simply the empirical data. Study after study makes the same conclusion. It's not a right wing conspiracy. It's just the reality. Get married before having kids. We seem to be living in an era in which we openly reward irresponsible behavior. It's a disaster.

I disagree here both of my parents were together & both my parents suffered with extreme substance abuse issues so although I was given what I needed growing up & had both parents around it wasn’t always blooming roses. I understand what she’s saying but I think it seriously varies on circumstances, situations & the cards life deals you. Single parent or coupled parents. STAY POSITIVE & BLESSED YOU ALL!❤️

I was raised exclusively by my father, and I go to the best high school in the country (according to the New York Times). Ann Coulter, was raised by both parents. Her statistics don't even make sense, many of the kids in my school only have one parent.

I was a single mother of two, and I couldn't agree with Ann more. I am lucky that my kids turned out great. But they got short changed by not having a father in their life, and it was such a struggle to raise them on my own. It's not fair to kids, and it's also hard on the mother. And the repercussions last a lifetime.

I was a single mother, and the father is gone, I never had anyone hand me anything, I paid for my own house, car, tv, computer, all my bills are paid by ME. The father took off to be a crackhead. This is the men's fault, the women are the ones who stick it out when the get it stuck to them, you need to check you're facts.

Well I'm sure studies may show that people who have more money in their bank accounts will most likely have better lives because they have better access to things such as healthcare, healthy food etc. but not all of us are fortunate to have a lot of money in our bank accounts; the study that she cites that says a nuclear family is better for raising a child is negated by the fact that not every family is NUCLEAR!

You can have 10 moms: 5 have 8 kids each and don't care about them much beyond the tax write-off and welfare credits, while 5 have 2 kids each and take care of them and provide a nurturing home. 1/2 the moms are bad...while 80% of the kids are bad. It's not like she's making this up...her opinion is based on REAL statistics.

Control yourself. As I was saying, she separates divorced mothers from unwed single mothers, and in the chapter she is only talking about the latter. If you don't want to read the book, then don't comment on its content, because you have no idea what it is or what she said.

How do you know she isn't donating? If even 1 child from a single parent family picks up her books & decides he/she will not contribute to a society of single parent families then the book has done good. My mother realized that I needed a strong male figure in my life, she signed up for the big brothers program in our town & I was paired with an awesome, intelligent man who showed me respect & character. That's what Ann is trying to point out with her book & comments on single motherhood.

she is not criticizing single mothers who are a victim of circumstance; to them she merely makes an observation. she DOES, however criticize women who CHOOSE to have a baby without a father. according to her sources 70% of inmates are of single mothers. that is how these women make victims
