Lyrics:
Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood
Would you o'er evil a victory win?
There's wonderful power in the blood
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the blood of the Lamb
Hear me speak what's on my mind
Let me give this testimony
To reaffirm that you will find
That you are my one and only
No exception to this rule
I'm simple but I'm no fool
I've got a witness happy to say
Every hour, every day
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim
My red blood runs true blue
And every heartbeat belongs to you
Classic case of boy meets girl
Moving in the same direction
You're not asking for the world
I'm not asking for perfection
Just a love that's well designed
For passing the test of time
I'm here to tell you
I'm here to stay
Every hour, every day
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim
Ask anyone and they'll tell you it's true
Every heartbeat belongs to you
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim
My red blood runs true blue
And every heartbeat belongs to you
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Yeah, sure maybe I'm on the edge
But I love you baby and like I said
I'm here to tell you
I'm here to stay
Every hour, every day
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim
Ask anyone and they'll tell you it's true
Every heartbeat belongs to you
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim, yeah
My red blood runs true blue
And every heartbeat belongs to you
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim
And every heartbeat belongs to you
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim
Ask anyone and they'll tell you it's true
Every heartbeat belongs to you
Amy Grant has built a long, successful career on music that matters. Ever since she burst on the scene as a fresh-faced teenager bringing contemporary Christian music to the forefront of American culture, the Nashville native gained a reputation for creating potent songs that examined life’s complexities with an open heart and keen eye. She became the first artist in Christian music to have a platinum record and went on to become a crossover sensation, her musical gifts transcending genre boundaries to make her a household name.
She’s earned six Grammy Awards and numerous Gospel Music Association Dove Awards as well as three multi-platinum albums, six platinum albums, and four gold albums. She’s achieved 10 Top 40 pop singles and placed 17 hits on the Top 40 Adult Contemporary chart as well as scoring numerous hits on the contemporary Christian charts. A longtime and active Nashville resident, Grant is as well known for her philanthropy as her music. She and husband, Vince Gill, are tireless in their efforts to aid worthy causes.

@@nickfishing they meant this song being flashy and trendy compared to what's out today. I remember this song being out at the time and it was just a fun song to listen to. It was a comparison statement between then and now because it's some trendy, fight song anthem, or some headache like Lizzo or Cardi B. The idea of those two existing back then would've been laughable. Now it seems like they're taking all the things you joked about with your friends when you were younger to imagine and making it a reality. I got what they meant by it. Actually it was pretty clear what they said. Didn't know it was that easy to misinterpret what they sakd lol

The editor of this video really deserves it all. Considering how BUSY it is from set design to storytelling to costumes, it remains extremely cohesive without feeling messy or overwhelming. Plus, it's just a really fun video. And Amy certainly deserves all the kudos for not being afraid to be weird and off beat in her one truly no apologies, bubblegum pop album with these music videos..

I can't even believe THIS was enough to cross over to the secular industry back in the day and THIS was enough to get people offended. Nowadays, someone has to curse, strip, throw up evil symbolls or switch sexualities to cross over and become successful. The church should be thankful for Amy Grant. THis is clean and sweet. People fall in love--there is nothing wrong with that.

Those of us who listened to her earlier are thankful. When I first believed, there was Keith and Amy. Both had a really big impact on my "walk". Keith left us many years ago, so I don't know what he would be today. But Amy, well, she will always be my "big sister" in Him.

I used to hate this kind of mainstream music back then... but compared to today's mainstream garbage, this sounds heavenly. Now, I like it. Its took today's bullshit mainstream music to make me realize it. Thanks!

I am a 25 yr old man who found this song and many others of Amy grant and absolutely loving her. Her music has so much joy in, this song especially its a pop song with so much joy. Unlike a lot of pop songs of any era. We need more artists like Amy grant today. She’s also got a natural beauty that radiates through her film clips, interviews etc. I am so glad God is using her in this way. Such a blessing.

Amy Grants songs helped me in my life in the 80s as a teen. Her Christian albums and her Unguarded album which r still my favorites. In the 90s....her songs about love encouraged me that love wasn't about sex.....her music continues to make me feel understood, nostalgic, happy, cheerful, closer to God and etc...Thank u God for Amy Grant ...Shes pretty too.

Thank you for this official music video!! Amy Grant is a beautiful, cute, sight for sore eyes, this song is so nicely arranged, the music and the lyrics, a near-perfect harmonious arrangement, and that cast is filled with at least two beautiful actresses I think I recognize, the pretty blonde in the laundromat I think was the pretty gal who was serving as a waitress at the bar in Thelma & Louise and that red head I think is the actress, pretty actress, who had a recurring role on Xena Warrior Princess, and the male cast is also good! 😃👍👍🙌✌️ .
