This is great. For events, I do this with the Nikon SnapBridge app with auto download, that way I just have the photos on my phone right away and can AirDrop or text. But that option where it sends additional photos automatically is next level. That's great!

I work in China, doing a lot of events and stuff like this is already standard. Not only with apps like this but you can chose to have AI edit the photos or have a human (or several) who will edit for you. The photos appear within minutes and you can chose to have individual galleries or one big live gallery. Its not very expensive because it's so common.

I currently use the canon utility app to an iPad for instant proofing (headshots and such) but would love there to be an online gallery made for events like this. Maybe at some point AI will be able to cull and make a basic selection! I don’t really need to edit much on events so I’m comfortable sharing JPEGs right out of camera

On the one hand, YAY for marketing purposes. On the other, it will quickly go from being a nifty nice-to-have to an on-demand service that event clients and attendees begin to require, especially at higher-end events. Even with a second shooter, that's another ball to juggle in the moment. (And yes, I know what Darwin would say. 🙃) Either way, THANKS for the video. As always, informative and enjoyable to watch.

I use it for TedX events which we photograph in our city of Billings. It's absolutely awesome after you figure out all the hardware. I usually shoot tethered to my phone. What are your thoughts on using it for weddings?

Very innovative idea for a company/service to automate the end to end customer engagement and marketing to the masses of people at events. I will keep an eye on this service since I think there will be competition in this space from other services and possibly the camera manufacturers. Also I want to see the bugs and issues shaken out, as well as see if the company survives and doesn't go belly-up before I pay for an annual membership 😂. Hopefully the price will go down a bit since I accomplish almost the same service using the wireless tethering and tagging on IG/FB, since the target demographic are already using social media and their own smartphones during the events I shoot

i have been doing a variation of this for years as i am sure other photogs have done also. I take a picture and most often organically the question is asked how can i get my hands on the image? Or depending upon the emotion of the guest interaction and or scene I volunteer being able to provide the image to a guest. I use snapbridge on my nikon, transfer image to my iphone then airdrop to guest... done! To me it adds one more element to a positive experience at a wedding. I can only speak for myself but I think its pointless to charge for this. This is one thing in my bag of tricks along with some good humor that allows guests to fully enjoy themselves. Giving them a free image is highlighting the positive you bring and affirming the bride and grooms choice of using you at a wedding!!! My two cents

@@AmahriHowland SpotMyPhotos offers an android app that works with some camera models, however best bet remains an iPhone (6S or more recent) to stream and spot. As for end-users, type of phone does not matter -- there is no app to download and images are sent by sms, email or WhatsApp.

Suppose you get 20 people to sign up to receive photos from an event. How are subsequent photos routed to the correct individual user's phone? Are they automatically sorted by facial recognition, or is it manual? Looking nice BTW.

i know you probably wont have the answer, but is it purely face recognition? or could i use this for automotive photography? I shoot motorbike trackdays and random bikes on the street.. it would be cool if they could identify themselves. this has heaps of potential. i just would need to justify the cost (in AUD its going to be like 3k)

As a photographer I love the utility of this, however, as a cyber security analyst, I hate it. Not because its necessarily insecure, but because its very likely the company who developed the app and SD card are using your photos to teach an AI something, somewhere. I doubt they've been transparent about that part, and personally I don't want my data/ face being analyzed by any AI. I feel like this type of tech is going to be used against the public in some way.

Just reading these values would go a long way but I would also want it to read the curves adjustment and white balance. crs:Exposure2012="+0.50" crs:Contrast2012="+20" crs:Highlights2012="-55" crs:Shadows2012="+25" crs:Whites2012="0" crs:Blacks2012="-30" I'm not sure what the 2012 is maybe Camera Raw 2012?

Ugg the SD card is a modern wifi card. Camera manufacturers need to include top end WiFi, maybe even the ability to replace a WiFi card in the camera.

nice soft and review. However, i find it quite expensive while sony a7rv... connect to smartphone, image edge, lightroom mobile with presets and then, instagram,... for free; also, the time you spent waiting people type their address just for one picture (perhaps several are better) you could miss lot of shoots... I am doubtful... but I am not a pro wedding photographer.

Your method doesn’t get the photo directly to the person… automatically… which is the whole point. You only ask for their info once and then from then on every photo is automatically sent seconds after you take it. And it’s their phone number so it only takes a second - and if you don’t have the time for seven taps, then you could use the kiosk or card method I mentioned

You don’t have to - I just did that here bc it was a small event and I wanted a personal connection with all of those high profile people. You can also: - Have a kiosk (which you see me do with the iPad) - have the QR codes on a card to just hand out (which you see me place on tables) - send registration early to guests

So the ultimate wow factor happens with instant distribution. But you don’t have to use it that way. You can spot people at the event or just have them scan a QR code and self spot. Then afterwards you upload the shots you want and edited the way you want into the approved gallery. And then it text/emails out to everyone it spots. They get their own private gallery of their own shots. It is incredible!

All in the terms and conditions. They don’t have to agree to them and in that case they don’t get notified and then they’re just in the regular gallery like any other event. ☺️

Ryan and SMP helped me book the BIGGEST 1 day gig of 19k. Well worth EVERY penny. The cost is minimal when looking at the bigger picture. One thing Vanessa didn't mention is that you can print ALSO!!! I charge an additional $250+ for that. Not to mention the operations customer service A+!!!

I agree Vanessa!!! I charge $700 an hour for corporate events and $595 an hour for regular events with a 2 hour minimum. This software is AMAZING and game changing!!! It also helped book a 19k gig!!!

I want canon to implement a printer to their camera body and be able to prints instantly and we photographers can upload our Adobe photoshop workflow into the camera, for such event where clients can’t wait to see their pictures.

As Vail mentioned, on-site printing is being done with SpotMyPhotos -- and heavily in certain segments such as photo stations and photo booth operations. Digital photos automatically delivered in as little as 2.9 seconds; Prints (ordered by photographer, supporting staff or attendees through their own gallery) in as little as 12 seconds with the click of a button. Most commonly used on-site printers: DNP, but can integrate with most printers.

Yes, SpotMyPhotos does this. You can easily put your logo -- or any custom branding -- upon photos. Simply pre-load into your SpotMyPhotos event as transparent PNG files for both horizontal and vertical orientation and you're set. As people share, your branding (and/or client's branding) goes along for the ride!
