I hate all the retcons and inconsistencies in PLL. You can tell the writers didn't have a plan of who A was after the Mona reveal and kept changing their minds. I hate the inconsistencies. Take Ezra for example, they clearly retconed that he was writing a book about Ally so thats why he started going out with Aria. I really don't think the writers decided that until season 4 when he started acting shady and controlling. And he continued to be like that at the start of season 5. Then you can clearly tell the writers decided not to make him A so they had him drop the shady and controlling behaviour and act more like he used to in earlier seasons. The flip-flip in character personalities and plot holes really bother me. PLL was almost amazing, if only the writers had spent more time on the plot to make it more sensicle!

Haha same, this came out when I started high school and I was obsessed with the first few seasons, stopped watching cause it got insane, and then binge watched to catch up and heavily got back into it the last couple seasons because I was an adult at that point and loved for how absurdly dumb it was, half the plot lines make no sense and go nowhere, the ending and “big a” reveal was horrible, the girls made the literal dumbest decisions at every single possible turn, but man I love this trash fire of a show and will watch anyone’s insane ramblings about it when I see them. There was a girl that worked for buzzfeed that had this series for the last couple seasons called like “100 thoughts I had while watching PLL season blah blah” and it was amazing. I highly suggest looking them up and rewatching the episodes she made them about when you have a couple hours to kill because they’re phenomenal, one of the only funny and original things buzzfeed ever produced, they’re perfection. My sister and I started rereading them recently and it was just as funny as the first time

I watched another PLL analysis video and they pointed out that Marlene was trying her god damn best to not do what the fans expected her to. Like, trying to do plot twists to shock the fans. But since the fans were so invested they basically guessed 90% of what would happen next, so instead of rewarding the fans hard work by making those things reality, Marlene said fuck it and invented some new plotlines. And that resulted in PLL's plot and timeline being absolutely fucked. She basically made so many shits up just to answer questions, but those only create more questions instead.
