Thank you for sharing. My family moved to Cavalier in 1972, when my father a GE Electric Engineer worked at the PAR sight for 2 years. We lived in the “complex” on Bjornson Drive. I have wonderful fun memories of Cavalier. My first job at the Chuck Wagon, my drivers permit at age 14, ice skating on the Tongue River, swimming in the public park pool and all the high school football basketball games, pep rally’s etc.are just a few...We even adopted a sweet little puppy from a friend and named her Daisy. Great video! I'm retired Air Force and was the Base Civil Engineer at Grand Forks AFB from 1995 to 1997. At that time, Cavalier was (and still is) active. The Stanley R. Mickelsen Safeguard Missile Site was in Army caretaker status. We provided support to both sites. I visited the Mickelsen Safeguard Site a couple of times, but never got to Cavalier. The Safeguard Site looks like something out of this world. I often wondered what someone would think if they came upon it without knowing it was there. My assignment to Grand Forks was, hands down, my favorite assignment in my 20-year Air Force career. ...Great people, a great base, and a great mission!
