Well, well. Woo hoo! I don't generally buy into cables making a very big difference, but since you mentioned this, I thought I'd give this a try. My Sonus Faber Lumina V speakers came with metal jumpers. Until I removed them, I had no idea how thin they are. They are extremely thin and light. I already had a set of thick Nakamichi jumpers on another set of speakers I have. So, I just used them on my SF speakers. Holy impact, Batman. Good Lord, these sound like totally different speakers. The bass impact is now awesome, but the highs and mids also seem much more clear and understandable. My goodness, I'm astonished. Thanks for the video.

Once put the jumpers on the terminal. I see people connect the speaker cables to it differently. What will be the normal best sounding for the connection? Both positive and negative go to lower frequency or negative goes to low frequency and positive goes to high frequency? What would you recommend.

I recently purchased a very modest system for a small room Cambridge AXA35 Int Amp, IFI Bluetooth Receiver, and Wharfedale bookshelf 220's. It had been a long time since I invested in audio. I used to be an audio sales person in the 70's. I basically set everything up as it came out of the boxes. I used some 16 AWG banana plug 6' foot speaker cables, an RCA cord, and turned the amp on. The speakers had jump plates in place. I thought it sounded terrific out of the gate with audiophile recordings off KZfaq. It wasn't until I started straying to old rock classics and even Frank Sinatra that I noticed some of the weaknesses. I thought Frank sounded better on my phone compared to what this system was doing. In other words, the system wasn't as forgiving of poor source material. I gave it a couple of days to break this thing in, and see where I was at. It's basically an office setup. I listened to well-rendered recording by Willie Nelson's Stardust which I knew very well, and noticed the system not getting that quite right either. Subtle detail and ambience was missing yet the center image was strong. I like a good center image, but not at the expense of the whole recording's feel. I decided to take advantage of the extra posts on the speakers, which I had done years ago, but didn't think much of. I didn't use anything expensive. Garden variety 14 AWG wire connected to the LF posts, and used what I had already (banana plugged 16 AWG) to the HF posts. I immediately noticed a difference in the audiophile recordings. I thought I was on to something. I was convinced it wasn't placebo the more varied I got. This system sounded better. More detail, control, ambience. The whole thing. Then I went to Willie. I wanted to see if I'd catch the subtle quick drum I was missing before. It didn't jump out at me, but it was definitely there. The system sounded more cohesive which even very cheap systems can do, albeit, pretty badly. So, there you have my two cents. Bi-wiring worked for me, and I'd imagine I could have gone the route of thicker single-wire cable or improved the jumpers, but the extra posts are already there! Look at it another way, I paid for those posts, and it would be a sin not to use them if no downside exists. You can get this done in less than a half-hour, and with little investment if you prefer, and enjoy a sonic improvement. Maybe I'll go with a good jumper with better single wire to see what that does down the road. I definitely think a better jumper would help, but a lot of people don't believe in bi-wire either citing physics. To me, better wire often produces better results, and certainly a more direct connection using all the posts available will make a difference. You may not even like the difference, or your electronics won't behave as you'd like making the changes. It's all very subjective.

I know this is a comment from 2 years ago, but thought I'd chime in anyway lol. The article you linked to a previous comment said "We actually recommend using shotgun speaker cables with Norse bi-wire jumpers instead of Bi-wire speaker cables. Bi-wire speaker cables introduce frequency phase inversion where using jumpers does not, it also keeps conductor count higher." I suppose bi-amping would be superior to both methods, but I am curious to what your thought are on this now. Thanks!@@vpconcepts9838

You have a high level system, but unfortunately, I realized years ago that all of that needed money on waaaay overpriced cables were a waste. I had (still do) Synergistic RCA cables from back in the late 90's and Monster "CD" cables. I had been going back and forth because I could never come away with a winner. The Monster cable cost about $30 and the Synergistics were about $200. In truth, all I got was a name and my knowing - or thinking that I scored some fancy stuff! I still have both cables. I cannot tell them apart in sound. I also HAD some Synergistic speaker cables which I really thought were the greatest and I treasured them because they cost quite a bit and they had that name attached to them. They were 12 gauge, twisted pairs. I also found a great deal on Acoustic Research 10 gauge speaker wire, which I kept for years but preferred the Synergistic. I think it may have been due to cost and my needing for them to be great! I finally got around to trying out the AR's again and then I realized why I was turned off by them - because they were heavier! Needless to say, I auditioned them bboth and the 10 gauge AR's were the keepers, and I sold the Synergistics. I write that to say that I could not believe that you bought the cables that they claimed that elevation makes a difference. You can and have bought what you wanted to, but at the end of the day, OFC twisted pair cables do the job and I have not found anything better. The bi-wire jumpers DO improve sound with a clear and powerful difference! I made my own out of 12 gauge twisted speaker wire. No need to spend hundreds.

@@vpconcepts9838 good day! So let me start out by saying that i now use the 12TC speaker cables with silver streak jumpers as a pose to the 4tc jumpers i got and it's a very nice difference. I now also got my AR subwoofer going which is phased nicely with my Bowers and Wilkens 705s. Here's what i wanted to share....i was using the hero kimber kable interconnects between my music hall 25.2 CD player and yaqin mc 13s tube amplifier and it sounded good, very airy, detailed, but found myself adjusting my sub cause it came across boomy at times... so i thought I'd switch out with a set of mogami interconnects i had[ 39.00] bucks, and Wow! It cleaned up the sub beautifully and airiness. The mogami interconnects are very detailed and quiet... most important, the bass is on mark and detailed. Im going to try a set of Analysis Oval plus interconnects that i also have to see..... might as well since i have am. Anyway, enjoy your day. If you have any input based on what i shared I'd like to know.

Im back to say that the Analysis Oval interconnects are much better than the mogami ones in that they provide a much more open and wider soundstage and detail.. but for someone who's just starting out and don't have or want to spend a lot of money on cables, the mogami interconnects are not bad.

Here again friend, no smack, but the ends of those fine jumpers, gold plated brass alloy? It's a bottleneck, and what's on the other side of the Sonus binding posts? More thin brass faston connectors? These are the sound killers, along with, as you say, wire conductor. My personal favorite, chopped up bits of Mundorf SilverGold solid core 15awg (or even two cuts twisted) - bare, no spades, no banana. So much more bang for your buck over expensive pucks keeping a cable off the floor for example.

You're nuts! No, you're an enthusiast in a hobby, and like all hobbies that you have a passion for, or at least great interest, you want what you want. You know I too have been doing this a while and am used, many, many products(too many), but the WBT products, lately I feel that they are not so great and it might have to do with the mass of their connectors. There is enough evidence out there that less mass on the connections sounds better. If it was me, I would try those jumpers with another set of connectors. One other place to look for improvement is the X-overs in those speakers which have twenty-thirty dollars worth of components. And as far as those whiny ASR acolytes, I send them this video of the most extreme accessory, gadget, Tweaks, not to mention gear, enthusiast that just blows everyone else away. Every room is covered with box after box of every imaginable and unimaginable tweak in existence and admits, most don't do anything. But he doesn't seem to care and I love it. And there is a sequel video that I haven't seen yet so if someone says that you're hardcore, tell them, not even close. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gJebpq9qvrS9qqs.html The first room you see is just amazing and I lust for one pair of the Kegons and it just gets better.

OK......lol Is there a name for the little blocks audiophiles use to keep their precious cords from hititng the floor? Is.....is it because the floor is lava? It's because the floor is laval isn't it lol
@vpconcepts9838
@vpconcepts9838 2 жыл бұрын
Quoted from music direct "because the floor is lava! 🤣👊🔥 Here you go for reals though... "What Are Cable Elevators? Cable Elevators are designed to suspend cables eliminating interference from boundaries. Produced by a leading manufacturer of porcelain isolators, Cable Elevators are coated with a non-conductive glaze to reduce noise and affixed with a special non-slip foot for added stability when used with today's heavier cables. How Do Cable Elevators Work? Regardless of make or model, all cables create some form of electrical field around them. In free air, the field is a roughly cylindrical shape around the girth of the cable. However, when cables are placed on a boundary, such as a floor, the field becomes compressed, distorting the signal. Cable Elevators restore this field by raising the cable up, allowing the cable to deliver an undistorted signal. Cable Elevators are electrically inert, so they won't cause phase issues and because of their physical mass, Cable Elevators are able to provide a small measure of resonance damping on longer runs. What Will I Hear? Unlike some audiophile tweaks which require "golden ears" to appreciate or a "magic decoder ring" to use, Cable Elevators are easy to use, require no burn-in time and have an immediate effect on the system. Even in a modest system, the first and most noticeable improvement is in the midrange; it's as if the system took a decongestant. Improvements in midrange clarity, bloom, presence, smoothness and coherency are instantly noticeable. After the shock of this improvement settles in, the next most noticeable improvement is in the treble, with greater air, extension, space and sweetness. Bass also becomes tauter, tighter, deeper and more defined. Imaging and soundstaging are also greatly improved, revealing more depth and nuance from every recording."

I have done a considerable investment in cables, and I cannot hear a difference that justify the expenditure. So, I came to the conclusion that I have not been gifted with the ability to distinguish between very expensive and fancy cables and normal, regular ones....so, the comment that guys criticising cables cannot afford them and are simply jealous, does not hold for me...

Thank you for your input. I have not come across this dealing with individuals in this hobby myself. In the 3 stores I managed, I would lend out a pair of speaker cables for the weekend to a customer, and ask them to bring them back Monday and return them if they didn't hear a difference. In 6 years I only had one person not buy them when he brought them back, only because his wife said he couldn't spend the money on them. There are of course exemptions to the rule and this was not meant as a blanket statement. Thank you for reminding me of this & thank you very much for watching! 🙏🏻🎼✨

It really sucks that a high end speaker manufacturer will design awesome speakers then stop short on the jumpers and rob us of a full sonic experience. How can we trust what is inside the speaker cabinets?

why not just bi wire?

Kimber doesn't make the Select series in Bi-Wire. Also, for those who spent hundreds or thousands on a set of cables, they may not want to buy another pair. Some speaker manufactures don't offer biwire options and some do. In my case I chose Bi-wire cables with bananas and spades so I can run them single with jumpers when using non biwire speakers. Hope this makes sense & thanks for watching Lindseth! 👌🎼💯✨

Spoken like a true audiophile! Actually it has a rubber base at the bottom & it comes off when I do my listening sessions. To be honest I can't hear a difference when I do an A/B with it on and off, lol. Thanks for watching! 😉👌🎼✨

Yes system synergy is everything. You wouldn't want to put a pair of 12TC on a klipsch speakers for example. My system loves them fortunately. Thanks for watching! 👌🎼✨

I've sold and owned KIMBER KABLE for many years now. They are always on the Absolute Sound & Stereophile's recommended cables list. Hand made to order every time, and customer service that's out of this world. Plus a life time warranty! My favorite brand by a mile any day. Thanks for watching. 👍💯🎼✨
