Man, I appreciate your energy, knowledge, honesty, your way of reviewing things and kind ways-a good man I see and follow! Thank you for all the work you put into producing your organic like videos - fun to follow you around the apartment with a view- Kind regards to you, A fellow audiophile, on the peninsula of the Bay Area (my wife just said, I want that Bonsai tree ;) -Rick E.

Thanks for your story on the LCD-XC, very heartwarming, great tips on the after market cables and headband. I am a hardworking factory worker in Canada who loves audio and it is my dream to have the LCD-XC cans and the carbon fibre headband along with the Audeze premium cable assembly available in their website which i previously had not looked into. I'll make sure to burn them in for the time necessary to get the full sound out of 'em. Have a good day.

I would like to propose an experiment… run a sinewave sweep and record through the line out of you gear, with and without the device plugged at 192khz 32bit. Later pass the recorded file to an fft analizer to see if there is any real difference between the files.

Nakamimichi decks are out of this world! I started hunting for a Nak deck 15 years ago. Always wanted one when l was a student but couldn’t afford it of course. So 15 years ago bought myself a CR1 and learnt to service it from forums. Had to buy an oscilloscope and a bunch of test tapes including take up torque tape. Having changed the belt and tuned the deck l was astonished at how good prerecoded cassettes can sound. Analogue magic. And then wondered how a higher end Nak could sound. So l then got myself a Bx300 and ditto serviced , tuned, and caliibrated it. Belts were from Marrs, USA. Holy molly….l was in heaven with even better sonics and the recordings even on lowly TDK D ferrics were awesome. For some reason recordings made from CDs sound even better than the CDs. Warm and lifelike for lack of better words…. Cut a long story short now l also own two 480 decks, a 680zx, an RX505 ( what a beauty this baby is), a ZX9 and yes a CR7A (the best recording deck in my books with its computerised autocalibration). The ZX9 records very good too but the manual metered calibration 400hz and 15khz when measured on the scope can be slightly off as you are relying on the segments on the VU meter. Using a scope makes the ZX9 spot on accurate setting tape voltage levels vs source 400hz and 15khz but the CR7 does it with just a push of a button.

$60 for a tiny USB cable, seriously? Any cable made to spec would perform exactly the same. USB is all digital, so your hardware either can make out the ones and zeroes, or it cannot. Anything that could affect your music would introduce bad artifacts and also corrupt everything else, like file transfer. And since that would be very, very obvious, even the cheapest cables are usually made good enough. Even if you want a nicer cable, they're like $10 for 2 meters, no need to overspend THAT much.

The all copper Ifi cable sounded less open and blurred compared to the solid silver/copper conductors in the ddHIFI cable. I'm gonna take a guess that you haven't actually purchased and used the cable you are making claims to in this video? Actual user experiences, well received or critical, are always welcome here. 👍🎼✨

@@vpconcepts9838 I'm afraid what you heard has nothing to do with the USB cable, unless you were using literal bit-dropping junk before. That's just not how digital signals work. It’s very interesting that you mention the timbre comparison. I’m currently on the lookout for a good dac, not necessarily portable but preferably usb powered. I’ve had the Mojo 1 for a long time but it’s conked out recently. I want to mostly use my Beyerdynamic Amiron Home full size headphones, and am more attracted by realistic timbre compared to a technically better resolution. What in your opinion is a good dac purely for realistic/ natural/ lifelike timbre, portable or otherwise but usb powered preferably. Thanks in advance!

Hey, thanks for the link. Checked it out, looks good. Although when I said usb powered I meant anything that can be driven off a usb based power supply, like the iFi Zen Dac, because in my work as an architect I travel quite a lot and prefer having a portable power supply like a power bank as opposed to a wall charger if possible, especially as I intent to upgrade to a better amp later on (currently at my desk is a Zen Air Can). Would appreciate your thoughts on these requirements. Thanks!

Do you (or any of your subscribers) have experience with this compared to a FMC (Fiber Media Converter) set (like the "10GTek Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter")? In case you're not familiar (like I was before), this uses 2 devices where 1 converts a LAN cable to fiber (removing any noise), which then goes to the 2nd device (with a clean lineair power supply) that converts it back to LAN (which then feeds a noise free signal into your DAC). A set like this incl cables usually costs you about 100 eur (incl cheap LPS). So curious how these 2 options compare, if you need both or if they both do the same?
