hi there, I’m wondering and wanna enquire, how difficult or easy is it to get an office job (in general, no specific fields) in Singapore? and do the “lower end” ones give high pay? I’m a poly dropout currently working a warehouse job. I’m honestly doing fine in it emotionally and mentally, but I know this isn’t what I wanna do for the long term, mainly cos once age hits me and I get more injury prone a single botch at work could literally cost me my job, plus while my pay is liveable for me, it ofc doesn’t hurt to earn more. I just feel so demoralised how having a degree and then doing an office job is the norm and bare minimum nowadays cos I can’t even attain it due to my incompetence in my academics

I think it's all relative and give-and-take. I mean corporate jobs tend to pay higher and there a lots of benefits like P-cards/Concur accounts, travelling, company provided meals/dinners, etc - the down side sometimes are the hours and WLB - sometimes you'll have to do 45+ work hours/week. Non-corporate jobs, like working for non-profits organizations, or working for the govt, tend to give you better WLB and personal fullfillment, but most of the times they don't pay close to corporate positions and most likely they won't send you on any trips across the world. I guess you kinda have to figure out where you are in life. Are you still that young go-getter fresh out of university ? Or are you in the midst of your career and starting to look at the future and winding down your career ?
