I think the restaurant itself looked lovely and really quirky. The food looked nice, but Lee I think they were a bit stingy with your chips, and looked a tad dry. It’s a 7/10 from me 👍🏻

Looks nice. Just a thought try the lemon on the batter with tartar sauce gives a little kick.Its not there just for colour.I like it on mine.

For a motorway services, this looks pretty good. The building and interior look fantastic and very inviting, but prices a little steep for what it is. However, if I'm hungry mid journey, it certainly beats the usual motorway fare of burger king or McDonalds. Would definitely give it a try 👍

Maybe they are award winning for a fish & Chips place on a motorway. It was refreshing, though, to see some greens on the plate. At least you've got one of five servings a day. Haha! Paige's gravy looked nice and thick. I'd give your meal, Lee, a 7.5 and paige's meal an 8.5 on appearances. Very attractive looking place too.😊.

Ive just been there just now. I only live 2 minutes away. I went in the drivethru. I have a Vito van and i struggled to get it round the lane and when i got to the pickup window i had to get out to collect it because there was a big kerb in the way. I had regular fish chips n curry in a box... I didnt know what fish it was because it just said regular fish meal. Same comments from me to be honest. Around 7 out of 10 for me. £12 too! Cos i had a fishcake with it. I cant say its the best chippy ive had but it wasnt quite nice. Excellent video Guys! Keep up the Great work.

Chesters looked ok to me, nothing outstanding, but ok. At least the fish and chips were a 1000 times better than Tesco's the other day. Again though for me, I'd have opted for the pie, though I prefer a beef pie. I too like loads of gravy on pies, Paige ought to have asked for more gravy, I always do anywhere I go. Nice video.

Went to Harry Ramsdens years ago, just off the M8 motorway in Glasgow funnily enough, and they were very good! I'll maybe try Chester's if I'm down that way, the scores of 7 and 8 out of 10 didn't sound too bad for a motorway services establishment.

I ask for extra gravy, never been a problem 😊

Looked probably better than it tasted but £36 seems high I appreciate it was at a motorway service area but for me a nice M&S sandwich bought before you leave on a journey suits me .

Forget the salad and give me more chips.

Last I was on a visit to England it was 2018 and I had fish and chips a few times. Each time I had more fish and fewer chips. Last shop was in Lincoln and I had fish, roes, a fish cake and no chips. I’d much rather have roes or fish cakes than chips. I can get perfectly good American style fries here in Florida but it’s hard to get good fried fish despite Florida being mostly surrounded by ocean.

Proper thick gravy on Paige's. Fish looks spot on but leave the greenery off a plate of fish and chips. Also I agree they're a bit light with the chips on your plate Lee 😅 8.5 from me.

I think both your scores were fair to he honest. Expensive for the amount you got. I personally enjoy skin on fish but each to their own. Ill go 7.5/10 for yours mate and 7.9/10 for Paiges. It annoys me when these places are tight with their gravy helpings. I like mine covered. Although i do.always ask for more but without paying any extra. Great video both and thanks for sharing.

Going to a chip shop I haven't been to before, certainly at a seaside, I always ask them to leave the skin on. That way I know if they have bought it fresh off the dockside that morning and fillet it themselves, or if it's come in a box off a factory ship, caught who knows how long ago and already skinned. The Cottage here in Blackpool used to have their own trawler at Fleetwood, I don't know if they still do, and the Sea Shell of Lisson Grove, London always bought their fish fresh each morning from Billingsgate.

I suppose the thing with fish and meat its bought fresh and it depends whats in the market that day - not all pieces of fish can be as big or as fat as you'd like every day ( unless its those weird triangular frozen pieces of fish ) whereas Paige's pie is a pie - its coocked in a pie dish using pastry and a filling so things like that will all be consistent on size

Here in Denmark deep fried cod skin is being sold akin to pork scratchings, have never bought any and never will, lol! 😂

Just a reminder that I recommended Chesterfield's well deserved highest rated chippy to you, Duke Street, also known as Margaret's on Duke Street at Whittington Moor.
