Whilst playing a BB gun battle with his cousin in the woods of Wisconsin, John notices that everything has gone quiet and sees a spots figure though the foliage. Did John witness an unnaturally large bear or was it something else more dangerous?

Hmmm people that live in the woods get called cowards for being afraid to go outside at night or even during the day. But they’ll never understand the fear of looking outside a window into a pitch Black Forest, not knowing what’s looking back at you...

Lived in them my whole life. South Alabama river delta in mobile county. Never seen nothing crazy. But the normal shit in and of itself warrants extreme caution. Miles of impenitrable swamp. You dont know what could be out there. I feel as comfortable in the woods as I do on my couch. But there have been a handful of times I felt like I was being stalked. We wear guns all day here. I sleep with one in the bed beside me. As do most folks down here. When you spend 5 years in the woods and never think a thing about it. And one day the hair on your neck stands up amd you get a sinking feeling . that's your own animal instincts telling you something is afoot. There have only been 7 times in 33 years I've ever heard the woods fall silent. And all those times it scared me to death. Its your instincts from millions of years ago. Same way deer seem to know where you are . same way gators and bobcatss know your there. Only difference is they dont have a few hundred years of civilization to suppress it. Humans are predators too. But our instincts have dulled. When you get that feeling in your gut. Its the same one a caveman had centuries ago when a predator was stalking him.

Whenever the woods gets quiet, that is ALWAYS a bad sign. Definitely means there’s a predator around. So make sure u always hear birds chirping
@josephvanas6352
@josephvanas6352 2 жыл бұрын
the silence you are describing is different than simply the woods being quiet or no birds chirping, birds dont go silent for humans and we are in almost all cases the apex predator its a different type of silence, everything fades away until you can only hear the sounds you are making, your breath, the ruffling of your clothes, and the ground under your feet. It happens sometimes on really calm nights too especially under a new moon. Too dark for anything to be out doing anything.
@prince-solomon
@prince-solomon 2 жыл бұрын
@@josephvanas6352 Yeah that silence doesn't make sense if you take it literal, why would any bird or insect care if there is a human, bear, wolf or other big predator walking around. They're aren't on the menu and birds don't go silent if there is a cat near them. It really seems to be simply a perceived silence by the person in situations with high tension/an eerie feeling. We do this all the time, focus on certain sounds while blend out the rest. i don't hear the buses driving past my house anymore, but guests always remark how annoying the buses are that are driving by. Alternatively, there is that paranormal approach that you are in some sort of dampening field (projected from some nearby invisible UFO), but well...no proof of that of course. Also a mystical/magical explanation but yeah... Who knows, but i prefer the rational approach.
@josephvanas6352
@josephvanas6352 2 жыл бұрын
@@prince-solomon Right, its closer to the silence you hear when you start to pass out than the woods actually being silent, I have heard it debated to be psychological and not in any paranormal sense just as you said its more so in the sense that our brain is filtering out excess noise to focus on what we need to hear or what we want to hear. It also happens sometimes when hunting and listening for animals which makes sense as we are likely activating the same filter.

I'm a native from northern Canada and I grew up hearing all kinds of stories like this from my mom , dad and grandparents. There's so many unexplained things out there and I totally believe this because it happened in the old days and now it's happening again just this passed month we had a guy go missing trailing horses for a hunting outfitter and he still hasn't been found yet, all they found was his horse and jacket. He literally vanished in a matter of a few minutes even though his brother wasn't very far behind him at the time. They had a huge search party with volunteers and search dogs but still nothing!!

I've hunted many places in upper and lower WI. Any hunter has had that happen, the woods goes quiet and I mean as a long time hunter U don't hear anything. But if you were taught by the older family hunters in your family that have been in those areas alot thru time, never raise yr rifle, or just start shooting. Which ever predator is there it knew about you, long bfr u realized the silence. You can really hear from which guys thru th comments that are real hunters. It let you leave or pushed U out if it wanted to kill u, I wldnt have no chance of beating it in its own environment. But I do agree with other hunters on that there not just all evil. There are deff more things out there than the gov admitts. But the glowing eyes I think is th biggest exaggeration. Like most night predators it's only when hit with light they have that look. Respect the woods and youll make it home.

I live in central Wisconsin. Back in either 2014 or 2015, I was sitting by a campfire on the shore of a small lake, enjoying a beer with a lady, when we heard a growling thing approaching in the snow. It became more ferocious, louder, and seemingly angrier as it got closer. It's wrath seemed to be directed at us. And it sounded evil, and was deafeningly loud. We could not see it, as it was in the dark; but it could definitely see us, as we were in the light of the fire. It was on the freshly frozen thin iced lake, and seemed to be VERY close to us, when suddenly there was a sound of ice cracking and breaking, then the loud plunge, and sound of splashing, struggling, slushy ice and water, then silence (except for a few gurgles of bubbles.) I said to my lady friend, "We've got to help it!! The poor thing fell through the ice!!!" As I got up from my lawn chair she grabbed my arm and yelled "No!!! Better it than us!!" Over the years prior to, and since then, I occasionally have found very large paw prints in the snow on that property. Five to seven inches in diameter. They appear in the middle of the yard, then stop. Very strange... I do not care who believes or disbelieves my story; I know it to be true. I just don't know what the creature, or creatures are. I thought maybe a bear; but wouldn't figure a bear would approach a campfire; and the growling was so intense, that it almost sounded demonic.

you do realize that animals can smell oil on guns and the like right? because Ive known many a hunter to leave their gun at home when they're going to stake out a place to hunt later especially if its not that far from home and isnt to deep into the woods, I have done this myself turkey hunting and deer hunting with friends, wed first pick out our spots a good week or two before the season even started an then when it was time we took our guns with us, cause ya know if you're caught in the hills with a firearm before hunting season you can get fined for it also for poaching not saying they will hit ya right then an there but I have known em to do it if its the wrong time of year, so thats prolly why most of the time people encounter a Sasquatch without a gun is because like any other animal they can smell you an what you're packing before you even come up close to being near them so naturally theyd learn to avoid that, I mean if I can smell the gun oil an brass of a gun an bullets I know for a fact a deer can and if they can you can bet your sweet dixie a Sasquatch can too an that aint counting the precautions of just not wanting any trouble from fish an wild life

Happened to me on a hike in Oregon with my Australian shepherd. She stopped running thru the woods and healed on the hike. She never does that. I noticed she kept looking behind us, staying close. I carry, to include bear spray. I stopped, listened, not a freaking sound. Dead silence. I realized whatever it was, bear or cougar, it was behind us and we could only go forward on the trail till we got off the mountain. We made it back to the trailhead completely aware and ready for an attack. I turned, looked up the trail, and saw a very large cougar watching us. Thank God my aussie did not panic, run, or bark. That would have pushed the cougar to attack.

Ok so the main one that he used to tell me and my cousins goes like this.We have a cabin in the north woods and it’s situated on a hill near a lake. At the bottom of the hill on the lake we have a pier we’re we keep out pontoon and boats. There is a walk way that goes all the way up to the top of the hill to our cabin. This happens in the late 1980s when my grandpa had bought the place. One night my grandpa came back from a night of fishing with about 2 walleye and one perch. He had finished gutting and scaling the fish and had put the meat in a bucket and threw the rest of the fish on the bank of the lake. As he started waking up the steps about when he got half way he started hearing the bushes moving and splashing in the water. Once he heard this he instantly froze. He slowly turned behind him to peer down the hill towards the lake what he saw looked like a big wolf on his hind legs crouching down with the fish carcass in its hands. Yes he said it had hands not paws. He knew that this was no ordinary animal but as soon as he started to walk up the hill he heard a crash behind him in the bushes. He looked behind him to see the thing stand up and look straight at him. My grandpa let out a scream and pulled out his .22 and fired two rounds straight at it. He said he missed the first time but the second one hit it in the shoulder. He said that it almost did nothing but made it even angrier. My grandpa said the scariest part was the look on its face after he hit it. It looked like a cross between a pissed of wolf and man. He could see the fury in its eyes. He then bolted up the hill and inside were he called his brother to come quick. Every time I walk up or down that path at night to go fishing or coming back from fishing I always make sure to pay attention and stay alert at all times.

I used to talk to this guy all the time after my encounter, he reached out to me via email and told me he was on der, and its been years since i heard from him, there has been so many more ppl that has come forward thru the years, and ppl that have high credibility is what i used to think was the most important encounters for ppl to hear, if ppl know that cops, judges, and leaders of our society are seeing them then more ppl can come forward and share

There is an interesting theory, partially based on Native beliefs. Some tribes believe the Dogman is a spirit animal, and when it comes to our world, it is given form, and has to live according to natural laws, more or less. This is why Dogman is seen eating roadkill, etc. However, to get back to the Spirit world, they need more energy then can be gained from a hunk of crushed deer; it needs psychic energy to push itself back into the spirit world. The easiest way for a 6-9 foot tall therianthrope to gain that energy is to cause fear. That is why Dogmen always seem very aggressive and hostile towards witnesses, but never seem to actually attack or kill them. They're just harvesting your fear to go home.

I believe that Dogmen are a highly isolationist, almost pacifist culture of non-humans. This stems from the reports of Dogmen encounters rarely if ever ending with a violent outcome. Yes, many encounters do show the Dogmen showing aggressive and hostile actions, but there have been hardly any reports of physical violence, unlike Bigfoot, who has multiple reports of physical violence being witnessed or heavily implied, unlike Dogmen encounters. My theory is that Dogmen had once fought humans and Bigfoots alike, only to slowly be cornered in the Great Lakes region where they finally had to make semi-peace deals with at most the Native Americans, this is impart due to how Natives of the region treat Dogmen and how centuries before Indian Warriors were sometimes trained into becoming "Dogmen". As such Dogmen had since become highly aware of human behavior and reasons to not get involved with them, pertaining to their already demonic looking physical features. So they behave aggressive when spotted or when a human enters their territory(ies) but show no physical violence, since they already look like such a beast that would give the most harden warrior nightmares, which could prove that they already know or foresee the consequences of harming a human that was not in the act of self defense. And this form of non-violence towards humans is most likely taught early on to the point of madness to them, but even to those that sin and are forced out of their tribe they will still not harm a human because they know the consequences that'll befall all of them. My next part of my theory is that the Dogmen seen are those that are undergoing a right of passage, or a ritual to become part of the tribe as a member. Though that is a major hope for the theory, but my theory also allows for the fact that some of the Dogmen seen have been kicked out for committing sin in their tribe (like murder or rape) and instead of being killed by the tribe they are forced to wander the lands with nothing but the fur on their backs; which is why for both the right of passage theory and theory of guilty of sin, Dogmen are not seen with say bone necklaces, animal pelts, or even using simple bows and arrows. That they must use nothing but their ancient senses in order to survive.

My friends and I loved horror and being scared. We would always go to famous haunted houses, cemeteries, etc. We had heard stories of " The Dogman of Wisconsin" and always wanted to see if we could spot it. We would always go down to Elkhorn, Wisconsin where there is a street called "Bray Rd" where its said that the Dogman lives. We went there probably 4 times in the 6 years we lived in Wisconsin. We never saw the Dogman. BUT we did find animal carcasses, strange footprints, claw marks on trees, tree branches on the floor that looked like it was used as a shed, and hear howls that sound almost like it had a scream to it. That alone was enough for us to stop going and learned to respect the territory of whatever was there......

I live in northern Indiana and I have a true story I would like to share with you. We have a cabin about 300 miles NNW of Thunder Bay Ontario. We drive till the road stops then take a float plane in to our cabin. My Dad built our cabin in 68 and we go up 3 times a year. The end of May, mid July and early Sept. One fall trip maybe 15 or 20 years ago now, we wanted to portage to a different lake. In the spring and fall if the weather was cool we would go after some Lake Trout. If I had to take a guess, I have been on that lake 30 to 40 times now. We are the only cabin on our lake and there is no cabins on the Lake Trout lake. We have 3 small boats we just leave on that lake because we go there so often. We had 6 men in 3 Boats that day. We all kinda went our own way and started fishing. It was maybe 4 hours later (around 2 or 3 pm) all 3 boats meet back up in the middle of the lake and we all killed our engines and started to eat our lunch. It was a beautiful sunny day with no clouds and the lake went completely flat, no wind at all. Ok now this is the part where you are going to think I'm nuts, so here I go. The first sound came from our north (the way back to our lake) The best way I can describe it was someone holding a note on a freaking pipe organ. The notes were perfect, not flat or anything like that. The notes would last maybe 5 to 8 seconds, that's a long time to hold a perfect note. When the one would die out, another would start from a different shore at a higher or lower note but all just perfect and sounded like a pipe organ. All the sounds were just single notes, we never heard 2 different notes at the same time. This lasted for maybe 15 or 20 min. We all 6 were hearing 20 + pipe organs play single notes around a lake with no cabins in the Canadian wilderness. The notes were extremely loud (like feel it in your chest loud) and with no wind and land no more the 400 yards away in any direction the notes would echo around a bit. My brother did not want to make the portage so he stayed in our lake with one of my uncles. Later back in our cabin we all were telling my uncle and brother what we heard. They both said they could also hear the notes from our direction. We never saw a thing and I don't know what we heard. We didn't see anything on the ground nothing in the trees, or water and boy we all were looking. About the only thing I do know there is no pipe organs around that lake. Over the years we have been back to that many times and nothing. Over the years we have asked State biologist, they look at me like I'm nuts. I even have asked a First Nation friend from that area. At least he gave me a kinda answer. Are you ready, I sure was. He said some things in nature are best left unknown. lol What that is your answer, I was so ready to find out and that's what I got. I'm the last one of the 8 people still alive who heard the pipe organ notes around a lake in the Canadian wilderness. I don't have a clue what was making the sound but something was and I'm just trying to find out what. Thank you. Greg

I listened to a dogman encounter by a army serviceman in the late 60s and he encountered two of them while on patrol bringing food from one base to another with his Sargent. They attacked the vehicle they were in and in the back of their vehicle had all the food, the dogmen threw it all out and left them alone after and he had to explain everything to his CO at the base he was suppose to bring the food, they didn't belive it. But the car was so mangled, he then told the story how the men in black met with him, he had a piece of claw that got stuck in their car. They took it from him and told him to never speak of this to anyone, and also told them the dogmen are out there for a reason to protect us from somthing. I believe that somthing is sasquatch. I think they were secretly bred to eliminate sasquatches because they don't want humanity to know somthing.

I lived in an apartment in a suburb of Madison, WI called Middleton back in September of 2017. It was in the wee hours of the morning and I couldn't sleep so I went out onto the patio and started reading a book on my Kindle. I hadn't sleep well since my mom had passed in May of that year. I had been outside for around 20 to 30 mins when my eyes caught something white out of my peripheral in the parking lot of the apt complex. Standing right behind the trunk of my car, under a soft street lamp in the parking lot stood a solid white albino doe. She hadn't made a sound so I'm unsure what made me look up. She stared at me for maybe 10 to 15 seconds then turned and walked out of my view. She never made a sound vocally or walking over the gravel and cement. I was nowhere near the forest so I don't know where she come from or where she went. She was breathtakingly beautiful. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me but I did a triple take and she stood there until she decided to move on. That experience left a very lasting impact on me. I've not had anything like that happen to me since.

I kept saying who are you thinking it was one of the kids hiding. I struck the wood match against the tree bark and was looking in the eyes of a giant Snowy White owl with giant yellow eyes about 5ft away. I'm 5'2". It wasn't much shorter than me. My hair stood on end. I ran fast back to the cabin shaking. No one believed me and to this day have been searching to see if anyone else experienced this.

Yeah he got lucky. It left a mark. Ever since that day i always feel like i'm being stalked whenever i go outside and my left cheek starts pulsating. I'm not sure but i think that wasn't just any "smack", it was more like what we do to cows, "livestock branding", and now it's just a matter of time until it decides to take me and have its way with me. I don't know if i'm ready yet for when the day comes... I always make sure i'm smelling good, clean and wearing new under wears before going outside but i still tremble with ecstasy at the possibility that, that might be the day.

I've been reading first hand accounts about this Dogman for the past month or so. What doesn't make sense is that no one ever talks about actually getting attacked by these things. They seem to just want to scare the crap out of you, even though they are more than capable of tearing you to shreds in seconds. There are accounts I've read about dogman attacking deer and eating them, even dead ones on the side of the road. But never touching the hair on any of these witnesses. One story, it did attack and mutilate a horse, two to be exact. They do say that when they lock eyes with it, it's PURE evil, and there is no doubt in their minds that it would kill them. I think these things are demons, that have been summoned or allowed to come into our reality. Maybe CERN has unlocked a portal from another dimension and unleashed these demons. One boy was even picked up by one after it spoke to him in his native European language, he was carried up a sheer cliff and when the ranger found it, it visibly shook him as he knew there was no way a 5 year old boy could have elevated 5000 ft in an hour.

I'm very glad I live in southeast Wisconsin far away from this, although I have seen some strange things. Like one time when spending the night at my cousins house about about 30 minutes to about an hour after arriving I opened the front door to let one their cats in because they liked to sneak outside a lot and I see something weird. in the snow are these human like bare footprints. I say human like because instead of normal toes they are pointed kind of like how a deer's hoof prints and they were each spaced about 4 feet between each step and based on how they looked it seemed like it was running. Me and my cousins followed the footprints to the side of the house saw they headed towards the woods then chickened out and ran in side. There had also been reports of some animal killing the cows in the area at the time and when I tried to look up pictures of the footprints it looked like one that someone had took a picture of believing that it was bigfoots footprint. I have no clue what it was but thought that I should share the story since this one took place in Wisconsin too. For those who would like to know where this took place it was in West Bend. Hopefully anyone reading this doesn't live in or near it, because wouldn't you rather live life in ignorance then have yet another reason to fear the outside world that may or may not have been nothing.
