European ship owners are sending their decommissioned boats and oil rigs to giant scrapyards in India to be dismantled. Registering them in a foreign country ahead of their last journey means owners bypass a European law that requires them to clean their vessels of toxic chemicals before they're demolished. The result is a dangerous environment both for workers and surrounding ecosystems. Our France 2 colleagues report, with FRANCE 24's James Vasina.

Yes, but it should be done properly. They do it like this for there isn't much financial profits in trash, waste, and old useless crap. Life and the environment should come first putting profit secondary. They might one day start feeding their most toxic foods to unsuspecting rich foreigners visiting. he he he

Putting heavy enviromental laws on the Indian people who are doing the dismantling would solve the issue. Instead of complaining, pass the laws.

Corruption is rife in India and the world knows this, right up to the top levels of Government corruption is the norm and its also the culture. India will always abuse their poor, conditions and the enviroment gets in the way of profit. Sorry Mr Singh but the truth is your rich don't care about its own people only money! Close down the indian call centers, India number one online scammers in the world.
