September 16, 2018 | Zila Khan is a prominent Sufi musician who sings classical and semi-classical musical forms and performs in the tradition of Imdadkhani gharana. She sings in eight different languages and was awarded the prestigious “Roll of Honor” by former prime minister Manmohan Singh. She also works with India's Tourism Ministry as a representative of Indian heritage and culture.
The India Initiative, in partnership with the Embassy of India, will host Zila Khan for a concert of Sufi music. This event is free and open to the public. Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis and is mandatory for admission.
