An Evening of Perfect Silence was recorded on 13th April 2022 at the SVA Goods Shed in Gloucestershire UK. TALK TALK engineer Phill Brown and MARK HOLLIS biographer BEN WARDLE discuss Hollis' life and the making of the legendary Spirit of Eden album.

Reached the end of this series of films & now finished the book too. Nice to see Phill so philosophical about the whole experience. Hollis was a real one off & an experience never to be repeated.

Really fascinating; agree with the comment above about how philosophical Phill is when the recording experience sounds pretty hard work. I guess like all geniuses, Mark had a vision and did whatever was necessary to realise it - even at the expense of others’ sanity. I recall Mark did praise Phill in that interview in Dutch TV. I’m glad they continued working together; credit to Phill.

God, this is so fascinating ! Incredible. All these little insights are just so fascinating to hear. Wish this could've gone on for hours haha. Phill is such a treasure ! And so grateful he's willing to do all this. Because, as far as I know, Tim, Lee and Paul sadly never talk about this stuff (which in a way I do understand too). Though Paul is now occasionally opening up about the Talk Talk days on Instagram. Which is great. Love him. Thanks for the uploads and sharing, Ben. And for the amazing book, of course ! This is so amazing and truly invaluable to Talk Talk fans :)
