To have parents like that is a kind of luxury I didn't even conceive of being possible... till now. I'll have to rewatch, after the first watch my jaw is on the floor. Mind blowing what it must feel like to be that warmly nurtured and supported by both complementing each other yet in unison.

@@Flutterbyby Thank you! Just had to do a bit of hunting around for it. Their channel is called Beneath the Surface and is linked in the description in one of the older videos featuring them on this channel (for anyone who sees the above comments and wondering). They totally fill a feeling of lack I had no idea how to put words to. All I know is, now, that anything and everything I ever wished, and hoped for and asked for from my existing family was never ever too much (it was nowhere near enough). Even though it has always been implied that's it's too much / unreasonable etc.

wow, your family background is positive and proactive. We exchange deep thoughts about life in a very simple way. In my family I get to do none of this, not even close. I suffer from it and sometimes I wonder why I'm so different from them. There must be frivolous conversations, but also a constructive confrontation, without leading to useless disputes and quarrels. per ragionare come loro bisogna avere una mentalità aperta ed essere introspettivi, cosa che le vecchie generazioni, soprattutto italiane, hanno molto poco.

Hi Nathaniel, I’ve watched a lot of your videos & love the way you explore life & wisdom. I know you know this - so it’s not a critique - just an observation - you have a very privileged life. At 25, to have travelled so widely, learned so much …to live in a beautiful flat in Paris with amazing decor & view…to have parents who are so loving, affirming & wise (& they are not very old either). I know your life has its challenges but I hope you do appreciate every moment..because compared to many/most people’s experiences, your life is a dream come true. Keep doing what you’re doing. I love to live vicariously through your videos & enjoy the nuggets of wisdom & Joie de vivre…& pastries! Your videos bring joy…they are interesting & fun. Best of all, you are constantly seeking & learning & that is what makes life interesting & worthwhile or us all. 💙❤

I imagine myself being like your parents when in my future. I’m sure they made a lot of sacrifices in their own personal young lives to be at this point where they’re successful. You have no idea how fortunate your parents are and it’s because they put in the work. They actually had a conversation with you. I know there’s a lot of healthy families and it’s not uncommon for parents to be present in their kids lives but basically I just want to praise them because to be the way your parents are takes guts. Trust me.

2 years ago, I used to watch every single video you did, and everytime, it was like if I could have speak the same words and topics you were presenting. The sincronicity was insane, and learned tons of awareness thanks to you. At that time I got into a relationship that finished 3 weeks ago, unfortunately an experience that ended up diminshing myself, not taking care of my person, time, and values. Living it with the (not) "Love" your mum describes on the table. Now it's time to heal, and surprinsingly -or not- I returned to your channel, popped the most recent video, and voilà, again, feeling your steps. I don't know what happened to you during these 2 years, but I'm glad that we both realized it's time to find our inner harmony, peace, and learn to put boundaries around us. Sending you a hug Nathaniel.
@alinneaitken
@alinneaitken Жыл бұрын
Hi Nathaniel, this message is for your parents: Cito: "...you don't know how to put boundaries because just like me you don't want to please, you confused that doing that for others is love and so do I and that's not love, love is when you show up genuine and you're clear about what your needs are and what you really want and you say it from a place of peace so you need to find your peace... if you find your peace it's so much easier to put boundaries and to know what you want". Harmony.

Here's a really simple plant tip that helped my make pretty much all of my plants survive and avoid over watering: Put a finger in the soil. If the soil is moist, don't water it. And no, not even if it seems like it has been a while since you did it last. Is it dry(ish) - then water it. Water it well (always pots with drainage) so that the water runs all the way through. That's it for water - it's really simple. Then there's light. Most plants don't do well in complete darkness og blasting sun, but it depends on the specific plant. The middle way is to make sure most of your plants have at least some sort of indirect light throughout the day.

I can't thank her enough! 🙏 I spent the rest of the video, just watching ang pausing, writing in journal, watching again. This video summarises why I (and so many others) connect with your content. The creative yearning, mixed with beautifully raw conversations and an honesty that seems like a hidden gem amongst a flooded industry. Thank you.

Omg thank you so so much. Thank you for this conversation with your parents. What I feel is that I need to rewatch this many times. Especially the part when your parents talk about peace, harmony and how these things help you create your boundaries and help you listen to your inner voice.

Hi Nathaniel, I'm a 14-year-old kid who does KZfaq and I've been really inspired by your art, I love the way you explore ideas in such a way that captivates my mind. You really inspired me to embark on this KZfaq journey, I know you get a lot of comments so I know you might not see this. The last point is that I Feel like we could've really been mates in another timeline we have things in common but it's just that fate is something else, I'm just a 14-year-old kid from South Africa who loves exploring ideas and philosophy but anyways if you see this I hope we can connect THANK YOU!

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! You sitting with your family who you respect and appreciate feels so rare right now. You are doing something our world is missing. I don’t see family connection, I don’t see thoughts and meaningful conversations with family. At least I don’t see it where I’m looking. Thank you for this and god bless or namaste to you and your family. 🙏❤️

These are the best videos. To see your parents and you interacting. I love your parents. Their words of wisdom just come from inside. To say something as eloquently as they have would take several takes and much editing in my mind. And maybe that’s the magic of your videos, but I think that’s the blessing of your parents.

I so enjoyed this. The family dynamics were lovely. As a multinational family spread over a number of continents, different hemispheres and widening time zones, I love that your family has come together some place... else. I am envious. And living vicariously. PS. I am curious, whilst you have your family with you, do you (all) think that the speed of life has speeded up for the 'current' generation, compared to previous? I would be very interested to know your and your parents view points. Would love love love to see a Q&A between you and your parents on how you each view each others lives and how they are seen, against the realities.
