This might not help live much or you wont see this but move your right stick up while the shooter is shooting,its doesn't auto contest and i see plenty of KZfaqrs complain about this but dont know what they talking about and im not hating in any way(well maybe i am)but im just trying to inform you about that one thing

Live should just drop the NBA aspects and make it a streets game. It’s a wide open market plus it’s something people have been wanting for years from EA. Keep the progression the same, that’s arguably the few things Live has over 2k and drop the price to $20 or $15.

It's a very fair review. I got live a few months ago for 30 bucks and I'm sure alot of those issues the late passes, the sliding and the non issue on defensive contest have been patched because I've haven seen the first two and I can't hit a shot to save my life when I'm contested. You're right about the graphics and the commentary but the soundtrack is awesome and the world tour is a ton of fun. It's not 2k but I think that's what I like about it.

This game is the shit this year. Loved the demo and excited to see what they added to Ultimate Team too. The One looks so fun though. I like that you can build a team around you and unlock new players constantly.

I'm a fanboy of neither as well. Both have their cons. Live is fun but is VERY easy. I got 18 and felt like I hit max overall in a week or two on the hardest difficulty. You make almost every shot. Even ones that shouldn't be possible. I played 2ks prelude and I'm absolute trash. But I honestly want a hard game. I plan on getting 2k. It will be my first one since 2k11.

I mean I mean you would spend 30 bucks in vc not even 30 maybe 50 dollars and keep doing that till your player has all the gear and his ratings maxed that’s like 100 and something dollars that could be used for something else like important Unless you are a one of the people 2k pays to play their product or a top gamer you shouldn’t be talking just because you claim no one has the money to buy a 60 Dollar game plus the extra vc. Great review. I stay loyal to 2K as I primarily play online head to head, and the pure basketball gameplay is the best, bar none. I definitely agree MyCareer these days is a frustrating fail though, and don't even get me started on MyTeam. SO MUCH bullshit in that mode.

2K timing isn't rewarded b/c it's also accounting for player shot percentage. If you get a 100% release with Shaq from 3pt range you should still miss, long 2 you should still miss, all the way till you get close to the basket you should have a very hard time making a 100% shot release b/c someone like Shaq can't shoot well. Same goes for players like JR Smith who is a streaky shooter. Sure he's very good deep but he's also very inconsistent even when left wide open. A good release in 2K just means you now have the best possible chance of making a shot based on actual player shooting avg. Say Kobe shoots 1,000 shots in practice with perfect release, he's still going to miss some, and so is Steph Curry and every other great shooter.

yeah I actually didn't really figure that out until I played my buddy as the warriors vs Celtics, and dropped 83 points with curry shooting 65% hitting 21 3s. its quite ridiculous. I wasn't even trying and I got 83

Bro in live u have to know how to get open with dribbles. U cant just expect to press sprint and a direction and blow passed someone. Thats what i saw u doing. U got bumbed (progress stopped) over and over. Thats gonna cause a turnover (steal) or make u pick up ur dribble. Its not the player on the court its the player behind the sticks 🎮

@A.J. Unfiltered thats because kyrie is controlling kyrie. Thats pure skill that kyrie has. U never seen kyrie just get bumped amd get bumped and get bumped in the same drive to the basket. Kyrie got dribbles step backs spin arounds and all to get open. Dude just ran into the defense over and over. Dont compare bad gameplay to the real kyrie when u know thats a huge skill gap

Wow at the free throw game breaking glitch. I encountered an identical free throw game breaking glitch with Live 15 and 16 but they weren’t in the bench, it was an animation lock up. It was finally gone on Live 18. Looks like they’re reviving it for 19... That needs to be fixed instantly.

Young Simba Facts 2k16 best basketball game ever created. You can play with any build and if you were good you’d win. Now if you use the best archetype at the time with cheese animations you’ll win. Biggest scam was archetypes💯 inside balanced outside was the wave.

2K also have hand dominance & freelance movement meaning you can move freely without going through a defense mechanic you can also get first step off the dribble without going through one not to mention 2K has realistic animations also like blocks dunks celebrations & shots if you’re trying to compare which is more arcade lol the answer is Live however bumps steals & glitches poster dunks 2Ks transition defense aren’t realistic but they fixed a lot of those problems if you played the prelude you could tell meanwhile Live has every player doing the exact same one leg dribble which hardens signature move so every player in live has hardens mocap which is unrealistic don’t compare this game to 2K ever & im not a fanboy I just found it real ignorant of you to compare by naming the flaws 2K has in their solidified gameplay & with live having so many in their broken gameplay they might have polished the graphics updated commentary added new features in the game to make it look better but that don’t mean it is as good as it should be you can still feel live 18 same way you can feel 2K18 in 2K19 but at least their gameplay is solid & playable in a sim matter

@@calvinluciano I could tell in the prelude's 2KU first game due to installation, the CPU went deeper out almost to half court, seeing if Curry could still make that deep 3, which surprised me cause in 2K18 and in that prelude prior defense wasn't going out to defend the player, not sure if the defensive awareness slider was on 100 or not, but it really was better seeing that, because you won't be shootjng from deep all the time anymore against the computer.

I played a lot of hours on Live 18 after I got sick of 2K18 and I can relate to a lot of what's been said in this video. I've been playing the full version of Live 19 for the past few days with Xbox's exclusive EA Access app, and so far I got drafted 1st by the Suns and I'm a 79 overall SF. It is definitely an upgrade from Live 18, but like Rusty said in this video it still doesn't compare to 2K and with the vast improvements 2K has made this year I preordered the anniversary edition of 2K19 and will be dividing my NBA play time as 90% 2K and 10% Live. Live is continuing to move in the right direction and hopefully they can keep pressure on 2K in the coming years.

If Live 19 is anything like Live 18, going off the demo is extremely inaccurate. Live 18 demo was stiff and felt like everyone made shots at a high percentage. After a few updates they included 3v3 and it was way less stiff (still kind of stiff) and punished bad shot selections. Your "10 hours of gametime" on a demo should not be crossed over to "An Honest Review Of NBA Live 19" you should of put "An Honest Review Of NBA Live 19 Demo" but hey do you.

I downloaded the nba live 19 demo and I was amazed at the presentation and the graphics. However, when I started playing the game, I couldn’t get the feel of the movement. Felt very stiff and players often made insane shots even when on superstar difficulty.

I have not watched your video all the way yet but i just wanted to put my 2 cents in b4 i watched.....after playing the 10hr trial with EA access, ive seen that live has some good things but it also has alot of bad things aswell, the graphics atleast the faces are definitely stepping it up but its only looks good with a some players mainly the stars ofc, animation wise they still have alot of work to do on that end but i was actually impressed on some things like the nutmeg crossover you can do and the stepback jumper animation looks great imo i was playing against the cpu one game and steph hit me with a great stepback three it looked so smooth i wasn't even mad that the cpu made it lol. as for layups and dunks, the dunks on this game are sometimes so wild some of them just look so awful esp. the standing dunks too when i played the beggining tutorial with the 3v3 i did a standing dunk with AI that just looked disgusting he jumped up so fast and it just looked very bad...i have already preordered live and 2k so i plan to play both
