NBA live 19 did not come close to nba 2k19 and the nba live vs nba 2k debates have been long over. However the nba live 19 game is not bad at all. The game contains court battles and the one which are great game modes. I am also a fan of nba live 19 the streets. however nba live 19 ultimate team is a poor game mode, nba live 19 lut is the worst card collecting game mode i have ever played in a video game

The main reason it failed is because of the peer pressure to hate on it because everyone was used to 2k they clowned the game and anyone that played it so it became cool to hate Live and want it to fail so people could crown 2k as king but their jokes only let 2k officially kill the competition and thus incentive to get better now here we are

Yep. One of the many reasons that another game will never have a chance. People are brainwashed and indoctrinated to 2k even though the game has been absolute garbage for a decade plus.

NBA Live 19 is where they finally built a decent foundation you can build off. Then never released another game since. All those different courts they had were super dope and the gameplay was solid.

They’re currently working on a game. They haven’t announced when it’ll be finished but they said they have a team working on a basketball game.

Like you said, would love an alternate to 2K that isn’t complicated. Just another basketball game to play on the side when I’m bored or frustrated with 2K.

I love this game when it launched! It was so much fun and very enjoyable! It still is! I just started leveling up my character again. Way better than 2k24. I wish they could update the roster.

Like someone said in the chat they figured out how to play on ball defense the system was amazing. Multiple courts different ideas they started adding in different stars on the game celebrities. Giant head super-tall James Harden challenges. All the time challenges it was just a floodgate it just stopped different courts to keep the brain and keep it fresh. They got to come back then dbg you might be the key. I hope nba live throws you a bag to help them create a good game. The time is now for them to come back they still got content and run live run still run still this. Running all night long with this game mode it was crazy. Of course it was some mechanical issues but they were getting it right the physics on this game was top-notch you weren't running through players

The devs did want the next NBA Live to be free to play and focus more on online features and the league said no, that's what killed the franchise. EA still had the license to produce the game then, and there were plans. Pro leagues hate when developers want to make their games free to play. Part of the reason 2k lost the NFL was because of the year they discounted all of their sports titles and the NFL got mad and sold the exclusive license to EA. I said it before, online and offline have to be separate. MLB The Show does it the best. The one year they merged Diamond Dynasty with RTTS people got mad and they went back to normal. Online and offline A.I. mechanics are not the same and one will suffer every time. NBA Live wasn't the smoothest game but ultimately they needed to regain some of the mindshare they lost to 2k.

I still enjoy Live 18. I remember me and my friend Chase would draw a random card from my collection and use whatever team that played was from and whoever had the most cards at the end of the day won and the loser had to do some sort of punishment which was usually jumping into the pool with clothes on.

Grew up playing the early nba live and 2k. I purchased nba live 18, 19 day one on release for my Xbox. Played live run 3v3 and 5v5. Currently still playing nba live 19 live run on my Xbox series x. Nba live 19 is my favorite basketball game of all time.

while i agree that wing shooter the reaper is the best class, you should always start as a backcourt shooter sniper to level up your icon twice just for Ray Allen’s jumpshot. then make your wing and apply the jumpshot

And you know what they want me over when they gave me a quart or cherasure and my old neighborhood neighborhood in Philly when they showed them some love we can travel around and play against crates live 19 got me right there. Very good 18 I think you play against Rucker Park greats

I think also, this game came out in 2018 when 2k was still Goated. 2k started to downfall around 2k20, when it got more aggressive with the Vc pay to play model and only got worse from there. If a game like Live 19 dropped now (just more updated), I think it would be loved by gamers. Without any other options 2k is a monopoly and will not change the pay to play system

This game had good bones that EA could have built on for sure. It wasn't perfect, but I could see that with a few years of polishing it could have been amazing. This was also the only game I ever played where the face scan actually worked.

one things i’ll say about live is that although it looks nice, it felt like you were playing with lots of input lag even while offline, it just lacked the fluidity of 2k

Was live 19 perfect? No. The weight of the players is off and there are still some animations that takeover. Franchise is bare bones as hell. However, I still play it cuz it's actually fun to play. The only thing I do with 2k is play the franchise mode as a GM. I dont even play mycareer unless I can install the mods because otherwise it's just not fun to play. EA honestly just needs to adjust a few things and they'll have a solid competitor to 2k.

I love franchise modes in sports games but Live had the worst franchise mode in 18 you couldn't edit players they chaged that in 19 but even in 19 the user progression system was almost non-existent so everyone else would get better but your team would barely get XP to progress even in user games iirc

I don't think that's really the issue. Go look at everything new in the last 3 years MyEras, full staffs in MyNBA, changing the MyPlayer builder, reworking all the animations, introducing seasons, Clutch Time, removing contracts, Trophy Case, proPLAY and cross-play next year ... They are trying to make the game better. (The fact they can't execute is a different issue altogether.) But the problem with all media now is that the profit motive is driving the decision making. Before it was "make a great product and you'll make money" but now it's about maximizing profit per user and the game is designed with that in mind. It's not like EA is doing it differently. The entire Madden game is basically a honeytrap for MUT

NBA live back in the early, to late 2000s, was awesome. Then just like good ole EA fashion, they get greedy and ruin the game....... same thing they are doing with Madden.

....2k has literally always been more greedy and a much more mtx cancerous game than Live ever was. 2k is the greediest most scummy sports game there is. They've managed to work VC in to far more game modes than Maddens mtx.
