I have owned this helmet for almost a year so join me as I review the Sena Outrush R Modular Bluetooth helmet. I discuss both the things I like and what I don't as well as the why for both the positives and negatives. We will talk about the comfort and bluetooth in this budget friendly helmet.

I just bought the Harley-Davidson version of the Sena Outrush-R. It has a manufacture date of 04/2024. It came with the PinLock visor, and FM Radio. I will agree that with the visor closed, ventilation sucks during the summer months. I am very pleased with this helmet. 👍

Fogging is my major complaint as well when stopped. I have to keep the visor in that first position you showed just prior to being locked. Feeling the buttons on the newer version with gloves is another challenge. Otherwise, intercom between my wife and daughter is awesome and easy to connect. You do not have to cycle through intercom. The three of us talk back and forth all time. It’s cool it because it comes in either Harley Davidson branding or like my wife she saved $75 and bought the Sena branding. Same helmet.

@@jst_moto We do have to cycle the button between phone connections and intercom. Intercom is supposed to be voice activated and switch automatically if your listening to directions or music but I have yet to figure that out following the user guide.

Hey Jim, was looking at buying this from HD. You mentioned you can buy tinted visors for this one but I cant seem to find them, only a light smoked version. Do you have any links to them? I think it's the pnly thing keeping me from purchasing. Great review, have a great season. Im in Ottawa.

You can get it like 100 bucks cheaper from Sena it’s the same thing it’s just cost more from Harley because of the logos they added

How much was the extra chin mount? Looks like not go pro so would fit others. Does it block buttons? My chin mount wraps around and blocks buttons. Dont use modular function anymore. I tried one of these on in storevand could not get glasses in though. I would have to stuff my mic in there too.

I bought my camera mount from “chin mount” they have everything for every helmet imaginable. Does not interfere with any of the helmet function. Thank you for the question and watching! Always ride safe!!

After about a month of searching, I finally found how to buy a smoked visor for mine. A local HD dealership had one in stock. Pure luck. I tried ordering from Sena with no luck as I believe they only sell them direct to HD for whatever reason. You can call your local Harley dealer, and they can order you one direct from Sena. $35ish.

How is the sound when listening to music at highway speeds

Ignore my previous comment if you saw it. Had a few bourbons tonight and missed the video this comment was from. I can honestly say with or without a windshield I can hear my music and nav prompts clearly and loudly at over 80mph. Thanks for the comment and watching. Hope to see you on the road. Can you tell me what you get for battery life while you listen to music? I never believe the factory claims.

@@rotho282 great question!! Being a tech guy for a living I never believe those claims either. When I commute wearing it (listening to music and rarely talking on the phone) I have it on and running for an hour a day (30 min each way) and I only charge it about every other week. When I do charge it, it has not died yet so I believe I could go farther and longer with it. On the rare occasions when I wear it all day, due to weather, I find that I get a full 13 -14 hours out of it. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting. Always ride safe!

I have a sena outrush helmet. The biggest bitch I have is summertime in Florida. Mid 90's with heat index over 100. The airflow for cooling sux. I have a high and tight haircut. Hardly any hair. After a one hour drive out in the country or interstate you take your helmet off and stopping wet with sweat and the helmet is soaked. After 1 day of riding you have to remove the lining to get rid of the locker room smell.

@@HarleyTrikeinFlorida it does get hot in the helmet in the summer. I’d say that that is the case with all fulls to one degree or another. I find that riding with the visor up or the chin strap locked open helps me a great deal. Thanks for watching and the comment. Always ride safe!

Can you replace the Bluetooth device for another ?

I honestly do not know because I’ve never seen the need to. The module is built into the helmet and I have not pulled the cheek pads to see if it is possible to unmount the existing device in order to replace with a different one like cargo or a different brand without damaging the integrity of the helmet. If that’s something you’re really interested in doing I suggest contacting the manufacturer directly and asking as they would be the best source. With all that said. If you don’t like the Sena setup that comes on this helmet maybe the better option is to buy a modular helmet without a Bluetooth communication system built in and then purchase the Bluetooth device you want to use. Because almost 100% of the systems out there can be installed in any helmet that doesn’t come already loaded with one. I just found it economical to buy a helmet already preloaded. @@jst_moto all good brotha i was just asking because my device seemed to gave out and i guess the issue I’m having with mine is a common problem and want to try something different . The problem i have is that my Sena device won’t charge the battery i though i just needed a new battery but when I replaced it it won’t charge the new one .

@@Chicano1992 that has not been my experience. I hate that’s happening to you. What does Sena say? I’ve actually found that this unit has better battery life than my previous Bilt techno 2 Bluetooth modular lid.

I have one on mine too. It came with the option when I bought it and I bought the pinlock insert. You can also order a clear replacement shield from SENA with pinlock option.
