A lot of artists moved to Carcosa in the 80s and 90s. It was a pretty dire place to live at the time, but that’s artists for you; they’ll live wherever they can afford. Went back recently though, and it’s barely recognizable. Tall glass luxury apartment buildings and fancy condos. There’s a Starbucks on either side of every second block. On the street it’s all bankers, ad agency people and computer programmers. Some of them pushing triple-wide prams. You used to hear musicians rehearsing when you walked the streets in dim Carcosa. But these days, it’s fairly quiet except for the occasional person loudly yapping into their earbuds about "market penetration." Oh wait… I got Carcosa confused with Brooklyn for a moment, sorry.

Dunno if this was ever brought up, but could Ammi Pierce's character from _The Colour out of Space_ be an homage to Ambrose Bierce? Just a WAG (wild-ass guess).

Check out the Carcosa Trail in the Arizona desert. The trail head (marked Carcosa Trail) is located just north of the Lake Pleasant Fire Station, heading up a small unnamed mountain. From the top, at night, you can hear the coyotes holing far out in the desert.

Again, I have no plans to rework that one - it’s a fairly recent recording, so there isn’t really anything different I could bring to it… I’d be interested to know why you’re asking?

I'm actually starting to skip these old ones, (not by the way under any circumstances to be confused with, "The Old Ones,") that have pretty much been done to death already and not just here on Horrorbabble, but I'm sure they'll be new to a lot of listeners and it all brings in advertising revenue which is definitely not be sniffed at.

It wasn't a complaint; I'm actually more than somewhat impressed by how well you've developed your hobby into a business, ("Honorable Enterprises,") and still developed it artistically as well and particularly by much of the new content. I continue wish you well of it and every success for the future.

@@HorrorBabble probably because I really like the story as a spur in the mythos history from the view of someone native to one of the other planes of existence. And recent is relative. It’s not going to stop me listening either way 😂😊

As just a fun mental exercise, let's suppose that this story and The King in Yellow both are set in the same continuity. (They are not.) Suppose they were, and Robert W. Chambers had been expanding upon this story. What insights can we draw about the King in Yellow, now that we know a little more about Carcosa? Carcosa at one time was a vibrant and mortal city, full of people living their daily lives. By the time this story is told, Carcosa has been reduced to barely a ruin, both buried and forgotten. What can this tell us about the events in Chamber's stories?
