It’s wonderful that the text was provided to you by his grandson. It is rather reminiscent of the many unabridged texts that were gathered by Nightshade Books for the Clark Ashton Smith anthologies. Your labor is much appreciated to bring this story to sound, Ian. And thank you Jeff for the generous contribution.

“Then he returned to the sepulchre, and using his spade as a lever, sought to pry up the slab lying nearest to a stony ruin which may have been a monument in its day.” Keep up the good work and, as always, stay safe!

That is a great thing, to help someone preserve his heritage, and to share a lesser known talent. Given how long ago this was published, you may have doubled or tripled (or more) the number of living souls to have "read" this story. This is no small thing, this post. Well done.

What a great story. Usually myhos stories that involve SW-Asia are very orientalist, but this one truly stands out. Not just a great story, but also a wonderfully respectful adaptation of the RL source material. 🖤 I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to hear more like these. 🌌

For those who may wish to know such things and their strange place in this world, the seal of Solomon was used in conjunction often with the star of David - formerly known as the star of moloch, devourer of children.

What an amazingly unique story. The Djinn, Kabbalah, King Solomon, and the lovecraftian horror of interdimensional entities and the revelation of horrible truths. This story has it all, even the mocking way the entity bows is so creepy and malevolent and cool to read. A very underrated tale.

Warren isn’t dead. But he took a wrong turn in the London Underground and is lost in a section closed off since the 1940s. At least that’s what he can tell from the yellowed newspapers and vintage posters. The crackling swing music playing distantly from some unseen source indicates it too. Something is also following him.

Another 'warning to the curious' yet can it be helped?! "oh... I see" and being lost in the seeing, or found. While a mental institutions of society note that there is yet another person who has grown, beyond its so-called sanity, insane or... useless and devour him while he is out of its reach. A wonderful description of the moment of crossing over, eager yet unprepared, the seeing in relation to what was left behind.

This is an incredible story that really goes to the core of cosmic horror, imo. It is able to impress upon the reader the indescribable/unnameable in a way reminiscent of (dare I say it?) Lovecraft in some of his best- 'Nayrlathotep', the Dream Cycle, etc... (In a way, it echos my own ontological qualia, reminds me of the possible desolation of eunni, at some times long past, thankfully)

I practice and have a couple variations of The Keys Of Solomon so this was especially interesting to me and fun! I wonder if the author was an Occultist or practioner of Solomonic Magick. To those interested, look up The Goetia (72 Demons that were put into a brass vessel and cast into the sea), a part of The Lesser Keys Of Solomon.

The author's lack of basic knowledge of the lore he is abusing is cringe. It's the Star of David, not Solomon's Seal, and it is mainstream Jewish while Kabbals are literally Satanists. It is actually so common that its appearance means nothing, it is even the symbol on currency in both ancient and modern Israel. And the idea that someone could mistake Hebrew writing for Greek is silly, no matter how amateur they are. Also, Hebrew, Arabian Nights, and Phoecician religion have nothing in common. Solomon does not appear in Arabian legends, and he ruled the whole of the Levant and perhaps more, not some small province.
