Whoaaa this definitely made me see baddie for how incredible it is at storytelling! Especially when the MV is very much paced like a who dun it/ fast paced mystery movie! I think my fav part of the movie would have to be the inside of the pink cathouse scenes! Gotta love a sensory overload of textures moment 😆😆😆

So actually, when I initially sat down to create a script about "Baddie," I was going to go a completely different direction with it and talk about the influence of Maximalism on the aesthetics of "Baddie," which was definitely going to include a longer section dissecting that cat house set. It was only after I started watching the video on repeat at 0.2x that I pieced together this theory. I think the video is genuinely intended to be "too much" by design and I love that about it.

Perhaps! It's just such a weird choice. Whale sharks get their name because their eat plankton, not GMO decorative goldfish. 😅

This theory is incredible!!! I am 100% convinced! Do you have theory on Off The Record as well? I think IVE said in an interview (or something, can't remember) that it has a bunch of symbolism or something (again I don't remember), and I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Off The Record definitely has a whole bunch of religious symbolism in it. You're the second person to ask for a video dedicated to it, so I will definitely keep it on the short list!

I am absolutely never going to claim to be any sort of an expert on any group's lore, but I could absolutely see some RV MV analysis happening in the future! I do already have a script written for another episode comparing Wendy and Seulgi's vocal technique, though, so we'll definitely talk about them soon either way.

I WAS SLEEPING WHEN THIS VIDEO DROPPED BUT THIS IS JUST PURE CRAZINESS 😂😂😂 I didn't stan Ive but *I've* always wanted to, *I've* never found the way to memorise their names and faces. I can only recognise Wonyoung and Gaeul but I'm able to differentiate after the 20 minutes of madness. Loved your version of the song. 😂❤ I totally enjoyed the heist theory and being a cat person, I might just be biased 😂 You should totally do more videos like this bit only if you want to because these videos prolly need a heck lot of ✨ EDITING ✨

It was definitely an undertaking to create a video this long, but I'm really glad it has been so well-received! IVE is one of my favorite groups so I'd really recommend checking them out. I love all of their title tracks, but they also have some great b-sides, like "섬찟 (Hypnosis)" and "Royals." I'll definitely make more deep dives in the future so thanks for tuning in.

@@overthinkingkpop I'll totally start stanning Ivr because I"ve always enjoyed their music just didn't find a way to know the members, now I do :) I'm becoming a multistan slowly but surely. It started with BlackPink like most new K-pop stans, then NewJeans debuted, few months later I decided stan them, Kiss Of Life debuted and I loved their songs too, I know about Soojin's scandal and when she debuted again as a soloist I checked her out and I love her too, through her I'm learning more about (G)I-dle (I know the members names and I can recognise them that's it but I'm enjoying their songs a lot) I also love Itzy and I used to stan them but I sorta stopped liking their music, now I'm starting to stan them again and now Ive. I'm 1000% a gg stan 👍 I need to update my PFP because Jennie's a soloist now (SLAY GIRLY ✨💅✨💅) and for Ive and Itzy after I'm a completely delusional fangirl for them too 😗

@@overthinkingkpop oh wow that's impressive! I've been using kinemaster for about a year now and was using capcut before I started using a computer to edit. I tried using capcut on my Chromebook but it kept crashing ugh

@peachxtaehyung Oof yeah, I definitely think of my computer as being a bit of a potato, as I bought it refurbished half a decade ago, but CapCut definitely locks up on it from time to time so there's no way I'd want to try to use it on a Chromebook. I'm impressed you're able to edit videos on a Chromebook at all tbh!

FINALLY got around to watching this, and wow! I’m so impressed with and inspired by the great evolution of your channel so far - it really seems like IVE is putting a lot of weight into the cat motif throughout their recent releases, I need more cat mafia content

I am going to be so curious to see if there is a feline motif in their upcoming MV, because this is three releases in a row now that have incorporated cats somewhere: the "Memories" sample in "Off The Record," the cat burglar theme in this MV, and the sun-eating tiger concept you noted in "HEYA."

I AGREE. I loved it from the very beginning. People just weren't expecting it and didn't know how to take it. I hope that maybe this video will help a few people go back and revisit it with fresh eyes and a new appreciation for how much thought actually went into it.
