This is such nifty advice, for even a Mavic 2 Pro owner. It's such a helpful tip be aware of how much control you can have over how fast the drone can move. After watching this, any mistakes made can be attributed to lack of practice.

The best produced and most informative video on the often overlooked (in favor of gear) skills. As others have mentioned, the stick positions overlayed in the frames are beautifully informative. Kudos for NOT inlcuding the pleathora of usual cliche (Take it to the next level, cinematic, epic.....) I liked the puppy dog too.

You know what i find exciting about the prospect of drone footage is that suddenly not only are you looking for good composed shots, but youve moving through 3d space as well. "how will this lighthouse look if i fly up past this crag and up over to the sun" stuff like that. Maybe a mavic pro is the thing i need to save up for, take that to wales and scotland. Epic footage. Looks a little like my short flight in Ouray, CO.

Neil, thank you for this video. It was very informative und the footage shown is beautiful. May I assume, as you mentioned 30 fps 1/60 in your video, that you shot the footage in 30 fps and create/export your timelines in 30 fps as well? As a beginner to videography I was always wondering why so many filmmakers on KZfaq choose 24 fps for YT videos when KZfaq is displayed on 60 Hz screens 95 % of the time. All those videos have some kind of microjitter (I guess it‘s the 3:2 pulldown to fit 24 fps into 60 Hz) which becomes very obvious with aerial footage with all the parallax and other camera movement. But yours is absolutely smooth. Not 60 fps better-than-life smooth, rather (in the absence of a better word ) „cinematic“ buttery smooth. Kind of what is commonly expected from „cinematic“ 24 fps. As I am in Europe, I use the combo 30 fps (for 60 Hz screens) with (as far as practicable) 1/50 as this avoids flickering lights with the 50 Hz electricity here. I have not seen anyone else doing this combo, as it is not 100 % complying to the 180 degree rule but it seems to work just fine. Again, thank you very much for sharing your knowledge! What additional care is required in an environment setup you were, for the drone, battery etc? Some tips, please?
