I go to college near the only Swiss Miss manufacturing plant in the US. I dmed the big monopoly company that owns Swiss Miss on Twitter asking if I could have the floorplan to the factory so I could run a D&D campaign where players infiltrate the Swiss Miss factory to find the “secret Swiss Miss formula.” They thanked me for asking and said that due to security concerns, I could not have the floor plans. Which was honestly the response I expected to get. … I’m still going to do that campaign & put at least a hundred hours of research into the probable floor plans of the Swiss Miss factory.

Flash forward six years, I am most of the way through my first semester of college when I suddenly have a craving for sugar at 1 am. I reach down to my shelf, pull out the unopened box of swiss-miss instant chocolate milk, open the box, and suddenly I feel the burden of rage passed on.

6 years later i still wake up in the middle of the night in cold sweat with the sound of ‘SWISS MISS INSTANT PISS” reverberating in my mind

I for one think 2 packets in a standard mug is too sweet. Why? Because Swiss Miss is mildly flavored sugar. Stop buying it. You can make superior hot chocolate powder by mixing a half teaspoon of cocoa with a tablespoon of sugar. Then you just mix that into hot milk (or a little hot water to make a syrup, and then cold milk for chocolate milk.)

i love that this video exists, instead of simply purchasing a different brand of instant cocoa.

Their diet version, that is half the calories, is literally just half of the amount of powder for the same price.

the double wide is likely to give them more visibility on store shelves. otherwise they'd risk being only a one box wide row the size of a pop tarts box. while poptarts has lots of variety, different flavors, minimal competition and gets lots of shelf space, hot chocolate bags probably get the same shelf space in most stores as all the different poptarts flavors, and they all have to share that space, so taking up more width is a strategy to be more visible amongst competitors.
