This bike has been registered, recommissioned and had the motor partly reconditioned while it's been in with us. The list of work done is HUGE and I only briefly skimmed through it in the video but the main thing is after all the efforts it roadworthy and ready to cruise through some more miles!

My first bike mine was a 75 bought as a left over in 76 for $1200, put 12000 miles on it the first year I had it. Always ran fine no problems though brakes didn't do well in the rain. I would love to have a ride ride on one today.

They were definitely built to do the miles, not stressed and over engineered, lovely easy bike to ride.

Brings back some great memories. I had one of these around 45 years ago. In the wet, it would sometimes run on all 3 cylinders, sometimes only 2. It made riding around a wet roundabout really interesting !! 😂 I get my seat upholstery done at Herbert & Ellison Upholstery. (Stockbridge, Hampshire.)

Had three in total in the late 70’s brilliant bikes sound great and go well from standing start, they were a little bit thirsty if you gave it a hiding but it was worth every penny lol

Not too bad Owen. CX 500. In Germany we called them those days "Güllepumpe" means pumping slurry. Reliable, bulletproof and easy to ride. Greetings from Hamburg, Germany and all the best for 2024!!!!

LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) came out in the mid 1970's.

I had a silver one early 80's, fitted a Piper three into one pipe on it. It sounded like an RG500, the local police were not happy, I got stopped more than once!

That’s a beauty! I used to have a Kawasaki KH400 triple, similar but a bit more power I think. A mate of mine had an XJ750 and my KH400 would smoke it - literally!! 😂

I had a suzuki GT 550, when it was raining a lot, the gear indicator would show 8 😅. It didn't handle very well and also had poor bakes .

Decent bikes back in the 70’s, but when the CB400/4 & RD400 were released they were generally overlooked.

Had one. It was a screamer with expansion chambers. The brakes truly sucked, but oh well!

Very popular in New Zealand. There were lots of them at rallies and were quite capable of touring long distance...Until the price of gas went stupid that is..lol..Great days..
