Was able to build and install front door. Barn doors were built but I didn’t have right size ratchet with me to install tracks. That will have to wait until next video.
Chimney and stove pipe were connected on wood stove but still too warm to start a fire.

First, genius way to steady a board when you are alone and need to saw. Put your foot on it and go underneath the leg. How I wish my legs were longer....LOL. I so enjoy watching you work. Its like watching a frontier woodsman create a masterpiece. Just Beautiful. When its dark and you turn on the lights and light the lanterns, for me, that's when the real MAGIC happens. Its like all your design and color and the soft light and natural hues of the wood reach out and draw me into the most secure and comfortable feeling. GREAT JOB my Friend. Acqua Della Roccia is Italian for Water of The Rock which is what I named the property. A little tribute to my Italian heritage and from Psalm 18:2. I’m sure some folks will cringe with using a circular saw like that but I think I could cut with my eyes closed at this point…haha. Really appreciate the comments! Take care Billy.

I've actually used an impact driver a few times on this build. The sound seems out of place in the middle of a forest with all the peace and quiet. If I could use a hand saw instead of a circular saw to cut down on the noise I would.but I'd be building this into my 60's....lol.

Curious if you plan to put screen behind barn doors to keep out bugs? Somewhere I saw a drawing with a bathroom attached to the side. Is that next to come? Miss hanging out.

The barn doors are going to the bedroom addition so they won’t be exposed to the outside when finished. I’m going to put a canvas up temporarily behind them while I build the addition. Bathroom will be attached to side of cabin. Bring the family down and come visit!

The pavilions at our state park have them. I always thought that they were there to keep the cold out or for when you went away and like someone else said about bear proofing the cabin.

@@joankline343 They are really bear-proof when they are attached to the outside, they also protect the window glass. They are also annoying inside, especially in such small rooms.

The door brace is on the wrong side.

Thanks. I've been told. Its supposed to be an X brace and will be added next video when I have more 2x4s. Also, I used 6" screws on the top and bottom angled so the boards are secured to each other. So really the brace is more ornamental than functional but I'm still learning as I go.

I have at least 3-4 more years of projects at this property. Once I'm done with this cabin, a bridge over a creek to the back of property is up next. Then my permanent "Real Log Cabin" build awaits!
