e-Gmat clearly makes a point that "-ed" modifiers at the end of a sentence (on Gmat) modifies the noun preceding it and not the entire clause before.

Great video I must say, really explicitly critical clear~~ Thumbs up!🤠 I apologize for my lacking of little wit that I just come up with 4 questions, don't know if it's appropriate asking here : For a non-essential participial phrase (in the end) : 1-1 Must it modify the whole shebang always or grammatically? What if the case is illogical or nonsensical? (Could this happen? Then should we slash and burn it?) 1-2 Can it modify a random item in the main sentence if logically correct or intended? For a non-essential relative clause (in the end) : 2-1 Can it modify the whole shebang in front of it if it's the author's intention? If so, what's the difference compared to non-essential participial phrase in the end? 2-2 Can it modify a random noun in the main sentence if logically or sensically correct? Or it is restricted to the closest noun grammatically?

@52:17 I got a question about E, why I can’t eliminate E because the phrase in the beginning probably can describe “the nephew”, also causing ambiguity like option A? The nephew is in the letters?? Ex: In high school, David is one of the most talented students. So “in the school” describes “David”. Please kindly help to correct my blind spot. Thank you so much.

@54:50 I got a question that preposition phrase parallels preposition phrase. I’m sure an official test has shown a correct answer whose sentence structure as following: The average output of ironwork tripled as a result of several improvements in blowing machinery and because coal replaced charcoal as the fuel used in the smelting of iron ore. So, we have “as a result of” preposition phrase and “because” clause. Could you please kindly explain the difference of the “rules” between the concept you mentioned in the video and that of this example? Thank you so much.

Hi @gmatclub -- On 8.40, you mentioned an example of a prepositional phrase I put the groceries on the table Just curious -- is the core of the sentence, " I put the groceries" ? OR Can you not -- drop the prepositional phrase from the core of the sentence ?
@magooshcheck1862

The core statement/main sentence is "I put + object of the verb", i.e., "I put X" Now further X has it's own object (often termed as the indirect object of the core statement/main sentence)
