For me I enjoy breeding the animals because to me that’s just a part of their life in nature that is so interesting to witness and learn about. The hatchlings are just an added bonus! If animals are breeding it means your husbandry is mostly correct which is also rewarding

I love breeding to keep, I agree it's so interesting to watch them go through each of their life stages and grow! It's just breeding to sell I avoid, but this is the biggest sign the animals can give me that they're happy and healthy! I love it, hopefully more to come!!

@@sg_animals. yes she is...pretty overwhelming since I only had cats and dogs, but the setup seems almost fine, did like you said and put the water at 25 degrees, the petshop clerk also said I needed calcium block to fortify their shells and purify the water...i bought it but the block dissolves and makes the bottom a bit muddy...other than that and feeding quantities I got it all under control(uvb, basking spot etc)? Yeah they might've gotten confused 😂 Calcium blocks are typically for tortoises not turtles, for turtles you can buy cuttlefish bone, it won't disintegrate in the water. Just be careful, some come artificially made and lined with plastic that you have to scrape off with a knife... With a good enough diet they should be fine anyway to be honest, hikari pellets and various veg is typically enough but no harm in getting cuttlefish anyway just in case! And brilliant it sounds like you're off to a good start and definitely putting the research in, love to see it! Turtles are pretty easy to keep to be honest, the main mistake people make when they start is the wrong setup, wrong temps, no UVB, no heat lamp and small gravel that can be ingested. Get the setup right and most of the rest is easy to be honest! :)
