I recently started a German 1910 campaign, and I have a battleship class that is very much alike to the Thuringia class, with 2x 13" twin turrets and 20.1" main belt. It just shreds every ship it meets. It performs even better than another battleship class with 4 twin 13" turrets, which is odd, but I love it.

I feel like since the mains are so close to the center of the ship, they always stay near the same place when the ship pitches and rolls

@@ryanschmitz1897 I don't think that's modelled in the game, and pitch and roll of that ship aren't uniquely low compared to my other ships. Also, if you look at Turret mechanisms in the research tab, at least from 1910 on, there is a 2D stabiliser tech researched for you that counters the pitch and roll of the ship.

Ballsy move engaging such a massive fleet without even attempting to withdraw. You were doing well, kiting them in the beginning, but decent AI got wise to your shenanigans. Unfortunate loss of that cruiser to a critical hit, but that's war.

It could be the armor they tacked to the sides and deck of the ITA BBs with their armor quality which makes them so expensive. In my Austria Hungary campaign I've kept my 1910 battlecruisers around. It's 1934 and they're still tootling around at 32 knots.

I know you said you're next campain will probably be a small guns, firestarter campain, but I have a few ideas for the next one after that: 1) You must not increase your research budget over 50% (the tech advantage makes this game fairly boring at some point) 1.1) You can only re-distribute your research focus once every 6 month 2) You may only lay down a new ship if an old ship has been sunk. 2.1) For every sunk ship, you only lay down one new ship. 2.2) It's irrelevant what type of ship has been sunk, you may lay down any type. 2.3) This automaticall includes: You may only lay down new ships during a time of war. 3) You may get ships as war reparations, and if these get sunk, you can lay down a new ship.

I think that an interesting way to change up the campaign would be to scrap one of the task forces, and writing it into the story as a freak storm or a traitorous captain scuttling his ships. Not to sure just some food for thought.

With the increased difficulty, the game just gives the AI ships for free to throw at you to artificially increase the challenge instead of making them smarter and more tactical. In truth you'll never be able to keep up with their recovery and output, but at the same time they can't seem to research much tech and prefer tossing death stacks of weaker ships at you.

Me looking at his ships in my 1920-(currently 1938) French fleet with battleships with 4x4 18 inch guns and 3x4 20 inch guns and 17 belt 9 deck minimum, + radar 3. *Pathetic* It is important to note that at the time that he was at, I was only just getting my first 18 inch quads though, so wow that's a lot of tech. The engines though...

Something I have noticed that would probably help make the game require more decision making is there's no limit to how much money you can store in the naval budget, unlike Rule the Waves 2. In RtW2, if you get over half of the naval budget stored up in the coffers, you get the budget cut rather significantly, so you *can't* store up huge amounts of money to just fire off ten 1bil battleships in one go.

When you asking yourself why that first BB is so expensive, did you miss that "d'Oro" part in her name? She is made of gold! ;-) BTW: Looking at the numbers when you hovered over the different calibers of guns; the total numbers of shells for 4,2" and 7,1" don't match with the number of shells per turret. 1484 shells of 4,2" and 891 per turret means she has 1,6655 turrets!. 3588 shells for 7,1" with 729 per turret gives 4,92 turrets! If such mistakes in math still exist, it could also be why the ship is so expensive. Game-labs is not good at math.......

Tbh Stealth could've 100% avoided loosing the Sheer, but unfortunately by repeatingly ignoring the End Battle tab near the end and the thought of 4 ships taking on a huge fleet went to his head, the battle was great but to many risks were ignored near the end

Lemme say that I've been quite enjoying your campaigns. I sadly can't play the game to make my own campaign but the more I watch the less I actually want to play a campaign. When the engagement started I thought it was going to be an incredibly boring outspotting game until the AI sends the lighter, faster stuff in and you lose your division. What happened was roughly 30 minutes of indiscriminate fire towards the enemy's fleet until the AI finaly bothered using its one advantage, speed, to engage you. In the end you lost next to nothing while dunking on a fleet that should've at the very least managed to catch up and destroy your entire division. If it wasn't bad enough that the AI just builds whatever i.e BBs made of paper that your non HE focused ships can completely demolish, seeing it being completely incompetent at spotting and scouting has kinda turned this campaing in an absolute shitfest to me. You outgun and outrange the enemy by virtue of having better spotting and better guns. You out strategise the enemy by being the human player and you out build the enemy by making more sensible and effective ship designs. The AI, with a fleet of just as, if not much faster ships, can't be bothered to sail in the direction of the shots at full speed and catch up to your fairly slow in comparison ships and overwhelm you. I'll keep watching, commenting and thumbing up but man it's getting tiring watching the AI being utterly incompetent when it should have a fairly good chance.

I wanted to live that game but after losing 2 campaign for no reason and then spending 15 years at war against ai scraping there ship all 8 can say to the développer of this crap is get your shit together....1 step foward 2 behind ... and btw thw game is so poorly made that i was losing some transport even if the ai has no ship
